Re: Subjectivity

April 19th, 2012, 5:53 am

Both perception and conception are only by chance empirical objective truth. What we refer to as being objective truth is sought by way a journey made up from the full spectrum of "truth", from subjective, though it normally begins from above here, through to entirely empirically, which is...

Age Disparity In Loving Relationships

June 4th, 2011, 2:54 am

Love being no more, but no less, than a basic primative emotion is most simply defined, or otherwise entirely misunderstood. It has no concomitants, and neither is it valanced. To love is to desire, and just how this desire is crafted by individual. Love plus the personal nature of a said individual...

You cannot have truths in the absence of minds, and people are free to change their minds as to what is true for them. My overall point here is that there probably isn`t sufficiently clearly definable objective truth to apply a term objective truth to it, that it`s very much a part of the whole conc...

Scruffydog I wouldn`t know how to interface philosophy, physics, medicine, law, and justice, but if you first remove philosophy, look for uniform interface, and then attempt to apply the same philosophical approach throughout, you might arrive there eventually. Philosophy shouldn`t be considered a s...

I`d still tend to disagree with Zettel, and consider that my example illustrates more clearly the workings of the dynamics of what constitutes truth from non truth. Fit is determined by the task in hand, and in turn, the task in hand is determined by subjective human beings - If it doesn`t fit, then...

The definition of a fit is subjective, whether and how much to allow for expansion, and what degree of misfit still constitutes being a fit. It`s not nearly as simple as that. If the size is mutually agreed but cut to a different size this would be a concern for correct measure and not one for truth...

As you know already we totally agree that truth is relative, never entirely subjective, never entirely objective, but always entirely relative. Subjective truth is often the opposite of relative truth - Nothing is known of a person, and neither his character, should he be 60 and she be 18, only in s...

It`s truth as in not being a lie, but no more than not being a lie, nothing else, perceptive truth (only). To treat it as absolute truth seems to me an all too available excuse for living at times an incredibly selfish life - Braking of truth down into my proposed forms is for very substantial reaso...

Shane Good response, but are these your own thoughts or those of another before you? I agree with you that perceptive truth is always in the eye of the beholder until such time as an event, perhaps a conversation, might change that truth, to something either closer, or further, from what`s true/what...

I only find reference to perspectives in your post? - Truth of circumstance, truth of perspective, or truth/absolute truth? It needs to be agreed which! There is considerably less absolute truth than truth of consequence, but this is what many of us here would be referring to in terms of truth. Perc...

Bmandude Yes, I agree with your position to a point, that it would be less than usual, that circumstances of one`s lieing would require to be extreme, however, there are if you`ll agree the two places/levels of awareness, the emotional/the emotionally conscious (conscience), and the merely conscious...

The universe obviously has a start, it`s written into the age of the material, but what you may be questioning is whether there`s been multi starts? I believe there probably must have been, and going back for infinity of time.

Phil, I disagree that the bedrock of peoples ideas is hard sought, as I don`t agree that either, being nurtured, affected by society, and societies, nor the borrowing from others that which was anyway emotionally one`s own, is hard work, I wouldn`t define it such. I`d define it natural progression, ...

That makes good sense, but I believe in love exclusively for the passion of friendship therein, for the rest cannot adequately counsel, and is the nearest thing to hate should love go wrong.

March 11th, 2011, 3:21 pm

Objective truth is a murky area of half truths, claimed truths, to be completed truths, manipulative truths, deliberately manipulative truths, human biased truths, and of course truths, I think!! It`s quite hard to demonstrate truth which is external to the mind!(??)
