(quote not shown) And I really want to know what it says exactly. Do you mind expanding? I would expand with pleasure, but my car just got repaired and I have to pick it up in the rain, with my one year old daughter. From the grand historical scale, the half a dozen versions of Christianity, plus mo...

(quote not shown) Scott: Sorry that you feel I am a preacher... I am not a preacher, as far as I can tell. I thought my posts were rich in facts, and arguments. The main arguments are these: -religion, from its ethymological defition, ought to include secularism. even Fox News agrees with that one n...

(quote not shown) Although I do allow myself the power of poetical thinking, overall, and in the end, my standards of rigor are higher than that of the most rigorous analytic philosophers. Matthew 25:41: "Then Jesus will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, INTO THE ET...

(quote not shown) Mark: In the original essay,"Crush Infamy!", I gave two homicidal quotes of Jesus, with the reference in the Evangels. Do you want more? There are more. But one ought to be enough. In any case, these quotes, and others, were used by the authorities to send millions to the...

(quote not shown) I defined religion as an inescapable background to the human discourse. So it's neither good nor bad anymore than the brain is good or bad. Brain implies religion: this is already true in the most basic logical systems (first order logic). Then I distinguished superstitious religio...

(quote not shown) As one of our friends here said, consistency can be overvalued. One should not try to be too systematic, lest we self censor. Nietsche promoted aphoristic philosophy, but most known philosophy is aphoristic. I would even say that the philosophical method is, by definition, aphorist...
