Why do I have to make this assumption? Why is this assumption not justified? Why can't time be mutable?

Why focus only on humans travelling back in time which is pretty far fetched? Why not a tachyon radio sending messages back in time instead?

(quote not shown) Because we are talking about reality, so examples from reality are necessary for a valid argument. Because we are talking about human populations, so examples of one human deviating from the rest is not an example that disproves the OP. (quote not shown) Because it doesn't relate t...

(quote not shown) I'm partial to a little weed now and then. More to the point, I like many am partial to mind altering substances now and then be that alcohol, weed, coke, speed or some other such catalyst of altered sensation and perception. But to do it 'as often as possible'? To live my life for...

(quote not shown) In a crisis such as Haiti has endured, in those first moments of calm, what do you think were on the minds of most of the people if not their nearest and dearest.... the golf balls? And then when the calm became the norm was it not shelter and work that took their focus... the pebb...

(quote not shown) You use the example of a country that had suffered a cataclysmic earthquake leaving millions homeless!!!!! I would say that your your world view is in conflict with your your ethical responsibilities to your client, then you decline to act for that client. This is what usually happens in such cases.

(quote not shown) Really? Given that the golf balls represent "family, children, health, Friends, and Favorite passions...", how do they manage to live 'good' and 'happy' lives. Given that the pebbles represent work, shelter and transport, how do they manage to live 'productive lives'? Dew...

(quote not shown) Ok, but you need to appreciate that masterpiece is not a word exclusive to usage in matters of art. (quote not shown) There are other options you know. (quote not shown) Perhaps in everyday speech. However, as I mentioned previously, there is a specific use of the word 'consent' in legal and moral discussions. This sense of the word requires not just that a person say 'yes' to something, but that there is a willingness on the part of that person to...

(quote not shown) But they are not horny for sex with their crush... that is the difference. The sexual intent is being placed upon the 12 year old girl and not upon the man... that is the difference. There was no mention of pedophilia... the girl is too old. The thought experiment is suggestive of ...

(quote not shown) Its not obvious if consent means saying yes, which appears to be Jack Owens contention, what is obvious is the 12yr olds incompetence to consent , even if they said yes. Until you mentioned it I had only read and commented on one post relevent to the OP question`s of incompetance t...

(quote not shown) I have read again over this thread and can`t say that Scott is agreeing that a 12yr old girl can consent, he appears to be saying to Jack Owens she can`t consent, even if she said yes. Well of course she can't consent... that's pretty obvious and a reference to psychological develo...
