July 3rd, 2012, 4:01 pm

Threw evolution we see beauty as how healthy one is and if they can handle having a baby and so forth. Thus why male are attracted to breasts of women. Health would go with size as well, Very skinny women are seen as unhealthy and are not that attractive, only too those who were fed the idea maybe.....

Is not freedom action without consequence?

To find the answer to a question about freedom one must define what they mean by it.

Re: Is philosophy pointless?

(quote not shown) I think you're completely off the mark. A large part of science is "pondering"; for instance, scientists have to ponder before they can carry out any experiments, or devise any theories. And I would imagine that out of intellectual curiosity they will ponder about many is...

Re: Richard Dawkins getting Older and Wiser

If you say something exists and you have no evidence of it, you can not say it does not exists. As you can not disprove or prove it.

God is used as a word of the unknown, or have no understanding of. We did not understand what the sun was many years ago, and we called it a God and worshiped it.

Re: Is philosophy pointless?

No one even knows what philosophy is nor can they agree upon it. I made a subject about it and 0 responses because no one really knows. All philosopher is a person who thinks we all think. So saying you are a philosopher is saying you have a brain. So yes Philosophy is pointless because science gets...

Re: Do you believe the mind and brain are separate?

I think a lucid dream is where you enter the scenario you have created in your head threw thoughts and some how become aware of your self within that scenario and realize this is not real and know that you have total control. Why is it that no matter how crazy a dream gets you do not realize it is a...

Re: When we ask what is the meaning of life

November 22nd, 2011, 7:04 pm

Why can not life just be a bunch of particles and atoms with bacterial life forms, What is the meaning of us becoming this advanced life form, with this conscious. We are so little and insignificant in this universe what meaning could our lives possibly hold. Maybe we only evolved to be able to witn...

(quote not shown) But why we are here can be answered by science explaining the big bang explaining evolution and such. This is why some argue that Science has token over philosophy. I think a bigger question maybe would be why are we given a conscience as a living thing, how is it we can view our s...

So what you are saying is same action can be taken but can be either good or evil based on the intent? If so one must understand the mind of the one taking the action so can not be judged by a 3rd party.

Re: A Zoroastrian view of Good & Evil

November 18th, 2011, 6:39 pm

There is no such thing as universal good or evil, there is only such thing as good or evil created by a group. So you could call our species a group, and so anything you do that does not help the majority of the group, may it be threatening its own well being or survival will be labeled as evil or b...

Re: Individuality in the increasing population

What you speak of is perspective. One could look at living things and know that there are over trillion of living things on earth and question his relevance. Or one could look at the size of the universe and know how big it is and how small we are and know that there are trillions of planets and mak...

Re: Defining Evil

October 29th, 2011, 9:22 pm

Something we do not want can be labeled as evil. For example most of us do not want death, and so we create a character resembling death and calling it evil. We do not want war or violence so we can lable that as evil. If some one does things that we do not like may it be from murder or something el...

When we ask what is the meaning of life

October 29th, 2011, 9:14 pm

....what are we really asking? Are we asking what is our purpose in life, or what reason do we have to live it? I would say asking why we are here but that is something I sure science can find out threw evolution and big bang theory. If that is the case should we not be more specific about what we a...

Re: What is music

First of you have beat or rhythm. Then you might ask why do we move are bodies to this rhythm and why most animals will not? Then you have tones or notes. These can set a mood or idea of what we should be feeling. Then we add poetry to the sound and rhythm or words, which create a story and mood of ...
