There is no transition really, one of my favorite parts of being a sports fan is to argue about them. Unfortunately I can't say the stereotype is ungrounded, many sports fans are in fact incapable of coming up with a legitimate argument.

I'm not exactly an expert on the topic, but from what I know they already knew some stuff with general relativity was way off. It's incompatible with quantum mechanics. They still use it to make large scale predictions accurately, so I can't imagine this has the type of impact everyone seems to thin...

If god created the earth, it is impossible for god to have originated on earth
if a thing is something which did not originate on earth, it is by definition an extraterrestrial
therefore if god created the earth, god must be an extraterrestrial
