Re: I hate being the new guy.

March 20th, 2012, 2:30 am

Hello! I must admit, I haven't had a chance to go through them yet. Have a lot going on right now with dying family members and such :/ but I will try to at least get to The Unified Theory of Ethics within the next couple of days. I have downloaded the PDF, and am going to leave it open on my deskto...

I agree. I just kind of bunched all those people together in the "if you're not with me, you're against me" sense haha

I hate being the new guy.

March 16th, 2012, 4:11 am

Hi everyone! I usually skip these 'introductory posts' because no one reads them anyway, but I can't update my profile until I have 10 posts and I'm currently sitting pretty at 9. Hey, I'm just being honest. So that being said, here's a little about me: -My name is Jamey. -I'm going on 25, which may...

Re: Should the Right to Die be made legal

March 16th, 2012, 1:44 am

I can't say that I agree that hospitals should offer a painless way out for ANYONE that would choose it, because most people hit rock bottom at least once in their lives and truly feel (however briefly) that that is exactly what they want. I don't believe that suicide is wrong, but it is a very seri...

Re: Why is it hard to stand up for what you believe ?

(quote not shown) I think it depends on the topic, really. It's easy to stand up when the topic at hand is silly and generally meaningless. It's only when it really matters that there seems to be a problem, such as instances of bullying, or being taken advantage of. In cases like bullying, or speaki...

I doubt that it leads to a very big job market nowadays, but I certainly don't think that it's pointless! After all, where would we be without it?

Thank you for sharing! I'll definitely look into it!

Re: Are anger, discompassion and hatred symptoms of weakness

March 14th, 2012, 5:23 am

I think that anger and hatred are symptoms of weakness, but I think a lack of compassion seems more environmental, or perhaps psychological. Anger and hatred (depending on the topic, of course) seem to stem most often from laziness, and a lack of knowledge about the topic at hand. It is much easier ...

Re: What would you rather have?

March 14th, 2012, 5:15 am

Personally, I wold rather have a liar than a thief for two reasons: One, I have seen liars that do not steal, but from personal experience, most thieves seem to be liars as well. And two, I see a lot of people every day. If my stuff started walking off, I wouldn't know who did it, and wouldn't want ...

Re: How Each of Us Can Easily Make the World Better

March 14th, 2012, 4:56 am

Not only do I agree with the idea of adding value to the world by helping people out whenever possible to make their day a little better and work load a little lighter, I think it's a great idea because it has a snowball effect. Helping someone out when they need it has the potential to change someo...

Re: Is everything we do self serving?

March 14th, 2012, 4:45 am

(quote not shown) I think it would greatly depend on the situation. For instance, if you are a politician who donates money to the homeless every time a camera is present, you are self-serving. If you are walking down the street with someone on a first date, and you give the beggar money to show you...

Re: Righteous slaughter

March 14th, 2012, 4:27 am

(quote not shown) I am of the personal belief that killing is immoral, however I don't find myself losing much sleep over a person who committed terrible crimes being slaughtered by his/her peers. In fact, you'll probably find me sitting somewhere saying "Good for them!", and then carrying...
