Re: No such thing as NOTHING.

July 12th, 2012, 4:27 am

I guess an individual devoted to the works of wisdom is a nobody, someone can calls this state of unawareness or even non being. Compare his view as a telescope on the moon staring down on the earth from the moon.

Marcus- You are correct about that for sure. Being in a state of happiness is what I was trying to evaluate that's all. The forefathers were probably replacing the word successful with the word happiness. It still is something to look at since America is supposed to be a Free country.

Misty- Yo bring up a great point and slightly backs up this idea I've launched in the air. We can't bring this thing "happiness" to us because we are experiencing it temporary or even if for the minuscule time of content we are given someone else is feeling the opposite emotion. This unfor...

Re: Why socialism , why faith?

Wanabe- That would be a great effort towards taking away the laziness of society or even removing jealousy. The major reason that won't work is that money is there to get what you desire without the physical requirements of that specific item you want. If you want a car in your society you are stati...

Re: If Fear Is Part of Life, Will Religion Be Useful to Us?

July 7th, 2012, 11:20 pm

Religion has no real means of having a purpose in this life for people that are upper class. The poor or mistreated have a better reason to follow this religion or god that has created us. Something to know after you die that could be a better place if your trailing behind a guidelines by an omnipot...

Re: Is there any evidence for Objective Morality?

July 7th, 2012, 11:13 pm

I believe subjective morality is dividing the opposite of extremes of characteristics to a single average of the mind or individual that is following ethics to a strict standard.

Wanabe- A beautiful idea you surfaced onto this debate. I believe this is one task a business should be forced to commit. A limit or quota should be established to make some people learn a craft they never got a chance to grasp. One major reason is that business managers don't want to take a huge ri...

There are many jobs still available though it may not pay as much as some are used to living. The problem is most of us are actually striving for a career since it is something we would enjoy while still earning cash. Ramifications surface when people target unrealistic approaches to this joy. Most ...

Hello there fellow diver Tyler, I too became interested in philosophy around the same time as you and love discussing all aspects of deep questioning through reasoning, dividing, and eventually understanding. GrecoRivera- Greatly laid out and explained with opinions of your own and from reading. One thing you brought up with not knowing happiness unless sadness if felt. Sadness can be just not being happy( Just like in science cold is just lack of heat). Is happiness a source we can gain for a limited ti...

Greco Rivera - Excellent answer on my question of happiness, but it leaves me believing as if a standard of happiness can be achieved still? If conversation and a pursuit of what you think will make you happy is fulfilled wouldn't that make happiness something once held unable to leave your side? In...

Re: Philosophy of Freedom

June 29th, 2012, 12:26 am

Freedom is an impossibility to gain. We have to add some word after freedom to make it approachable to human standards. Free of evil or an oppressor is a possibility if your virtues are one adjacent to Jesus. Of course evil can be good to a person with the ethics of Satan. Something to keep in mind ...

Re: Searching for interesting topics

If unsure of what you want to search, dive in to your mind for a brief moment and when you come to an unfamiliar path PAUSE! Evaluate what your mind is staring at then ask the question on here. Sometimes simple questions can dig up the most artistic jewels.

This book sounds amazing truthfully at the same time it seems to have you asking more questions than leaving with more answers. I hope my nearest bookstore has this so I can gather a literary piece from the honorable Stephen Hawking.
