Demonstrating His Existence by necessity.

January 3rd, 2013, 4:05 am

One of the famous philosophical demonstrations to establish the Necessary Existent is a demonstration called ‘the demonstration from contingency’ or ‘the demonstration from contingency and necessity,’ and it is formed from four premises: 1. No contingent existent essentially has necessary existence,...

Re: The practicality of Kant's Categorical Imperative?

January 1st, 2013, 1:49 pm

Hello First of all, I assume it impossible to follow his sets. Do we have that knowledge required to follow his system? Do we know the final result of every deed of ours to see whether it could be universally good? I think there is another problem with Kant’s theory. It never tells you anything abou...

Re: How one can prove "Supernaturals" right or wrong?

January 1st, 2013, 1:33 pm

Hello What do you mean exactly by super-naturals? Whatever we can’t understand by empirical knowledge? As I know, there are some demonstrations about God’s existence, intermediate beings (those parts of causality chain between humans and God also I don’t know whether it’s correct to call the angels ...

Re: A true argument against religion.

December 31st, 2012, 3:05 pm

Hello... (quote not shown) This just happens when you don't have 100% proof for the religion you follow. Let's say it in this way... when you prove that every triangle has a sum of 180 degree for its angles, you don't go for chance of being correct. you never say that others think that it's 179 degr...

Re: Beginning of a morality system

July 19th, 2012, 12:17 am

Our reality: for sure we are not just these material bodies. There are many signs providing this fact. However, we don’t know what that reality of us is. So I just refer to it as “our reality”. Cut our souls: we can cut our bodies and get injured. Is it possible to damage our souls? And by word “sou...

Beginning of a morality system

July 18th, 2012, 2:06 am

Hello every one! Is there any connection between our deeds and our reality? Do our deeds somehow affect us? Like the time we cut ourselves and our body get cut, do we cut our souls by our deeds too? If it is so, I mean we change ourselves through our deeds, and suppose there is a standard for existe...

Re: The contraposition of Descartes' cogito ergo sum

July 18th, 2012, 1:58 am

Hello Discards, why do you use "I" then? The very fact that you understand yourself means you are here. Your existence is the only thing you don't need any proof for. You know you are, because you find yourself. I also don't say that you are a solid reality out here or something.... I just...

Re: Is there any evidence for Objective Morality?

July 17th, 2012, 3:47 pm

Don’t you like yourself?

Giving your material presence to someone else doesn’t mean that you don’t like your reality. In fact you do it to go up in the true scene. As I mentioned, if you find that this sacrificing brings you comforts, you do it but yet because of yourself.

Re: The contraposition of Descartes' cogito ergo sum

July 17th, 2012, 3:40 pm

Sorry to interrupt! Let’s help Descartes a bit. What if he meant as follows “The only fact which doesn’t need any proof is our very being! We have inner experience/knowledge by presence about ourselves.” “If we have any doubt about our existence, we can’t solve it by any other statement!” As I see, ...

Re: Is Modern-Day Praying Really OK?

July 17th, 2012, 3:30 pm

Sorry to interrupt! Maybe after all we humans are selfish! And I don’t think it’s important until the very last level of perfection. In fact God himself uses our selfishness to evoke us. Talking about paradise and hell is one example. Only those who forget themselves and get blind to all but God are...

Re: Is my condition random?

July 17th, 2012, 3:15 pm

Sorry to interrupt! I think we use “I” as a sign for a reality we find clearly but can’t convey it to others so clear. I can’t express all of reality I find as “me” to you by words so I just simply say “I”. In fact, we rarely think about our reality. As I see, the most significant fact worthy of stu...

Re: Is there any evidence for Objective Morality?

July 17th, 2012, 3:01 pm

Sorry to interrupt! Isn’t it easier just to define “good” as “valuable” or “worthy”? then we say every act which helps to reach our valuable goals is good. Then we move to the question “what is valuable? Is there anything valuable by essence?” We can say “our very existence” is valuable for us and t...
