Re: Is what’s commonly called “philosophy” self-destructive?
Since it is a corrupted form of philosophy-proper, 'philosophy' [academic and Western] is a double-edge tool which can caused destruction when adopted by evil prone people.
Philosophy-proper as existing within human beings as a basic drive like hunger, survival, sex, security, etc. is primarily positive for the well being of the individual and humanity therefrom. Philosophy-proper exists as an fundamental drive wherever there are humans, not just in Greece and the Western world.
Philosophy-proper is meta-Science and is responsible for the emergence of Science. At present philosophy-proper [or whatever the name of this fundamental drive] is sustaining and maintaining the Scientific Framework and System. Scientists in their scientific hat do not establish and maintain the Scientific Framework and System, rather they are switching to their philosophical hats when doing so.
