What it means is that there is still a lot to learn about the universe. And that we are making progress. And that there is a long way to go. And it is going to be a fascinating journey.Philosophy Explorer wrote:Recently direct evidence for the Big Bang was discovered. What does this mean for mankind? Also recently it's been proven that black holes do exist. What does this mean for us? Is there a use for all this information? What does this mean for the universe? What next? The God particle or the multiverse? Where are we headed or where should we head? What say you to this?

Hmmm.......Aren't you the one who said the universe has always been and always will be? If so, how can the above statement be true? No, you are right Misty, that is what I believe. The Sun will still be here, only as a dwarf star, once it collapses back into itself. The earth will still be here too, only as a scorched and barren rock. Everything that is here now will always be here, only in different forms.Misty wrote:Hmmm.......Aren't you the one who said the universe has always been and always will be? Water is a good example of changing forms. If you boil water until it disappears, it has changed form but is still present in the atmosphere. When you look at a cloud, it looks a lot different then the water you drink, but it is still water. Ice is yet another form of water, but on the atomic level, it's just one part oxygen and two parts hydrogen.
