Artists having the freedom art?
I personally accept the fact that many artists are sharing their valuable ideas and perceptions for the development of this word, and that they should not be controlled... if anything they should be encouraged to express their mind and views on this complex world through art. Although I know there are many people out there who believe art does have its limitations... I would like to know further what other people think of ones artistic freedom.

Don't you agree that artistic freedom matters because the alternative is unwanted political control of individuals?
Artistic liberty may not be the same as artistic freedom. Freedom includes freedom for the consumer as well as freedom for the maker. Liberty seems to apply to the maker only.
Therefore I ask you what is the connection between art and truth?

Ugliness however is in itself not an indication that art should be censored. Ugliness can show truth .There was a time when that word was not ugly.
Truth is the criterion of good art and censorship kills truth telling.

How do you feel about 'cultural appropriation'?Chloe wrote:Basically a free society is purely based on the principle that each and every person has the right to art, access to and enjoy art, and to be able to communicate their expressions and creations. Artists such as Kara Walker and Prune Nourry are examples of two multidisciplinary women who challenge the limit of ones freedom through exploring very controversial issues such as sex selection bioethics, artificial procreation etc.

Example: someone wearing a Native American headdress who isn't a Native American?
