This is a discussion question for the June 2016 Book of the Month, Justice by Scott Hughes.

Question 1 ~ Brynn Malley vs. Prosecutor Joseph Bronson

In the first part, Brynn seems to suggest people would think poorly of her if she told them she was allegedly being emotionally abused. She seems to believe that people “want small talk, not to play mad libs or listen to you whine about your life”. Later, in the part with Prosecutor Joseph Bronson, on several occasions Joseph laments that “nobody cares,” particularly in parts of the story while he rants about the criminal justice system. What similarities and differences do you see between these two characters, their complaints, and how they deal with what they believe makes them unhappy?
