If God exists is he a technophobe?
I know many of us resist modernisation as we get older but tapping a keyboard has got to be better than writing on stone tablets.

But there are actually some Twitter accounts that claim to be God. Here's one:
https://twitter.com/god
Maybe one of them is genuine? How would we know?

Well I imagine the tweets would have something holy about them, probably something hard to define yet unmistakable. Perhaps put questions to them, the answers of which would be known only to God. Of course, we wouldn't know the answers either but we don't have to tell them that. I don't think there is actually much chance of any of them being God, surely there would have been something on the news about it. I know Brexit and Donald Trump seem to dominate the news lately but I'm sure they would have found space for that item. No, Steve, it has to be said, you need to be a bit more sceptical.

If God exists, then the Devil exists. If Facebook is the work of the Devil, then why would She allow God to have a page, huh ?Albert Tatlock wrote: ↑December 10th, 2017, 7:45 am If God exists where is his Facebook page? Why are there no Heavenly tweets on the web? He took full advantage of the printing press when that was cutting edge technology, if it is to be believed that the Bible is the authentic repository of his word. Why then has he not now gone online? There isn't even a plausible sighting of him on Youtube, and, if he really does exist, his failure to bring out an app for the iphone is completely inexplicable.

While Facebook certainly looks like the work of the Devil I am not aware that it has been established that it is the work of the Devil. Although God and the Devil are no longer on speaking terms their relationship goes back a long way, maybe the Devil would allow God access for old times sake.Georgeanna wrote: ↑December 10th, 2017, 10:16 am If God exists, then the Devil exists. If we don't know the answers either, how do we know if He's got it right? Perhaps we could just go for the straightforward: "How many fingers am I holding up?". If He answers that one correct, let's say, three times in a row, that's me convinced. I'm off to church to beg forgiveness for my entire life up until this point. But, as you've said, that may be because I am too credulous and lack sufficient sceptisicm.Albert Tatlock wrote:Well I imagine the tweets would have something holy about them, probably something hard to define yet unmistakable. It would still probably just be the jokey "And finally..." story at the end of the Ten O'Clock news, like Jesus's face in a cheese sandwich or the tap-dancing snail that held up traffic on the M1 for an hour. A bit of light relief to cheer us all up and make sure we don't have nightmares.I don't think there is actually much chance of any of them being God, surely there would have been something on the news about it. Perhaps a cynical marketing ploy to fool people into thinking that she is inclusive and believes in providing space for dissenting voices? I've heard that the devil is quite cynical.Georgeanna wrote:If God exists, then the Devil exists. If Facebook is the work of the Devil, then why would She allow God to have a page, huh ?

Okay then, we ask him something God wouldn't know and if he gives us an answer we know he's lying.
I think the real God would consider answering such a question beneath his dignity, I mean, can you honestly imagine him responding to that. And not just once but three times. It just wouldn't happen, Steve. In the event that you did manage to satisfy yourself that God did have a Facebook account, I think it would be safe to infer that it's okay to do your begging for forgiveness online, no need to bother going out in the cold to find a church.Perhaps we could just go for the straightforward: "How many fingers am I holding up?". That wouldn't have been last Wednesday lunchtime between junctions 36 and 37, would it?the tap-dancing snail that held up traffic on the M1 for an hour.
