I am also a theist but I have a challenge for you and anyone else who is up for it.The challenge is;can you logically prove God's existence. The answer should be logical!

Do you have an answer others may confirm by their answer?

I think each person who is mature and mentally competent either prove or disprove God's existence for their self.

Theism is a bit complex, because not only there is a God but this also interferes with the universe affairs.

Theist wrote:Hi, everyone

I'm new to this forum. I'm a believer in God. I say prayers. I speak to God. and I try to keep Him in my memory every moment of the day. There are moments (mostly during prayer) I can sense that I'm influenced by God's grace. I can see how He responds to my supplications through the kind of internal spirituality I feel during prayers. There are times that I feel so expansive and enormous that I feel I just can't fit into my body. I can sense and feel my experience. And they just can't be delusions. Although my experience is subjective and personal, I think I am able to reasonably argue for my faith in God and His existence. I successfully managed to transmit my experience through a great deal of conversations, arguments and mutual contemplations to a strong-minded Atheist who thought God is just a nonsensical concept to begin with. But after a few months, she gradually started to sympathize with me until she became as an ardent believer as I am, if not more.

Now, in this forum, I like to expose myself to your questions. I'm willing to respond to your critical challenges to my faith. With my unique approach I think I can convince some of you about the existence of a universal source and authority that starts to influence us once we allow ourselves to be exposed to His constant heavenly energy. I'm waiting for your critical responses. I hope you don't deny me this opportunity.

Thank you!

It is the function of the conscious brain to create stories which enable us to live better. So your god is a story. You are in fact dealing with your sub-conscious brain which is pushing you through the normal human life phases. The story of god quite validly helps you through your life. However the story does not work for me as I have been trained to seek reality.

I believe the Theist gave up quite a while ago.

That's a pity. I was going to admit that my search to reality currently stands at: reality is too big too small too slow too fast and too weird for my brain to accept. (Earth, sun, galaxy, galaxy clusters, universe: cell, molecule, atom, quark, photon, electron, gluon, quantum field theory). And perhaps I should accept my human brain's limitations and live in the layer of reality that it was designed for.

This is a good perspective we should all live in the layer of reality we have been designed for.

No, you can not prove God's exsistence. It's impossible to prove his exsistence and impossible to prove his non-exsistence. So making the conversation impossible to prove right or wrong.

What if god is the construct in the conscious brain representing the sub-conscious part of the human brain - would that mean god exists? (Everything we live with is a construct in the conscious brain; some things directly correspond to external objects and we argue less about them than we do about those things that are constructed for convenience such as universals, number, supportive myths, good, evil, love, etc.)

Exactly you can prove that, so making my statement still correct. If it was constructed in the conscious brain and able to be tested if that's where God is the construct of that, then it wouldn't be God because, he isn't supposed to be able to be seen or exposed in any way. He's supposed to be believed with faith as cause he's a spirit not an actual science experiment. Making it impossible to prove exsistence and non-exsistence.

Those who are able to prove for themselves ( and there is no requirement for logic) that God exists are arguably much more content than those who struggle with questions of the logical reasoning and/or the "conscious construct" of God. Being "trained to seek reality" is not always an advantage. I suspect that those people are simply getting on with their lives with a sense of peace and security- with no room or time for philosophical doubt. In many ways they are pursuing a more constructive, "meaningful" life than we are....

Theists may well have a more meaningful life, but I would argue that the attention to reality has driven the movement of human civilisation (stone-age, iron-age, horse-age, rifle-age, nuclear-age), for better or for worse.

I disagree with this. You can question but still have a "meaningful" life in that you maintain purpose, you are useful, you are a constructor, not a destroyer, and so on

I must say I am very glad that you so love your God. 1 - Anything that will relax you and lead you to harm others, is a good thing. 2 - If you had a bad practice of speaking with God, man would not do it 5000 years. 3 - In all the religions, you can feel God's power when you really have faith in God. So be sure you will feel God's power. 4 - One caveat: When you pray for help, pray first and then all try to achieve the goal. Do everything for God. Try yourself and ask God for help.
