Humans, like most other animals, like to stake out territory, which they believe to be "mine". Hence, my house or my country. If others infringe on this territory, the fight or flight instinct is invoked. If someone kicks in your front door and starts packing up your tv, you either run or fight back. If one country marches into another, the invaded country either surrenders or fights back.

Wars are the natural result of human nature and for that reason, there will always be wars. Unfortunately, the modern state of weapons makes war risky to the entire human population.

The question is: why is the first country invading another country in the first place? Or why is the guy who kicked the door to your house, packing up your TV?

Countries have needs and people have needs. The guy kicking down your door might need money for drugs. One country might need oil or some other resource and decide to take it. There are many reasons why these things happen, even though there is no justification for doing such things.

So many wars have been fought throughout history, all for various reasons. I see no reason for this behaviour not to continue.
