The Philosophy Forums at OnlinePhilosophyClub.com aim to be an oasis of intelligent in-depth civil debate and discussion. Topics discussed extend far beyond philosophy and philosophers. What makes us a philosophy forum is more about our approach to the discussions than what subject is being debated. Common topics include but are absolutely not limited to neuroscience, psychology, sociology, cosmology, religion, political theory, ethics, and so much more.
This is a humans-only philosophy club. We strictly prohibit bots and AIs from joining.
Any conflict in the world includes anything that causes conflict including for the people not just by the people.
This thread is I am topic tyvm Astin. I made certain by asking Intuitive Infidel. As the newcomer here that you are I`ll give you a tip, for what its worth, I think you could tidy up your attitude, and you might want to try and talk to people on here with the manners you command from them.
What about if there just weren't any public toilets?
What is a public toilet anyway? Is a hotel room toilet public? Is a toilet in a large house inhabited by 10 people a public toilet? Are the generally very clean toilets in small, fancy restaurants public? Are the toilets at a large house party public?
Do public toilets generally tend to be less clean particularly in relation to usage? Do you have any sources? Certainly, many public toilets are cleaner than many private ones. The toilets at chef Ramsey's restaurant are likely leaner than the private one in my apartment for instance.

I think it's implied that the "public toilets" are the restrooms funded by the local government. This could mean toilets are state parks, highway rest stops, things of that nature. If a bathroom is in a McDonald's, than I think that would be a privately owned toilet.
Please don't tell me I can't do it... It gets old -.-

What about the woods?
Whether publicly owned, privately owned, or naturally existing, a toilet is a toilet. The problem is not the restroom or it's cleanliness, it's humans in general.
We as humans are inherently messy creatures, it is only because of our intellectual development that we desire cleanliness. Until we develop a way to practically use our body waste or evolve the ability to not even produce it, this will always be an issue. Funny that you can't spell toilet without TOIL.
What this all means is, until humans either technologically develop ways to compensate for our flawed bodies (hunger, waste, sleep, etc) or evolve into a new form (I'd prefer to be a floating ball of light or geometric shape personally), we will always have toilets, aka conflicts.

What a fun game. Find two things that are negative and use them interchangeably even though they have very little relation to one another other than they are both seen as negative.
You know what really pulls my chain? Brazilian people who add me as a friend on MSN, and then I come to find out that they don't speak any English! But, I suppose as long as humans are humans, those pesky Brazilians will keep requesting that I be there friend on MSN, AKA conflicts.
THIS IS FUN!
Please don't tell me I can't do it... It gets old -.-
I will leave a mess if already a mess exists in the PT, I have no desire to be touching anything, including the toilet seat. Get in get out, if I come out of there without the claps I count myself a lucky man.
It may be a matter of expedience, noone wishes to linger in public toilets.
How do they get so dirty? Well, hovering is to be blamed, or maybe the fact that sometimes we hold our breath while we do our business, and therefore rush to get it done.
And even if the toilet is clean, we still see it as a dirty object, a great white (sometimes blue or grey) unknown. The cleanliness is just a canvas for our imaginations...
I think how we wipe our butts is more indicative of society's flaws, so let us remember...less is more.
I prefer only single use restrooms, because I prefer my privacy.
I simply prefer to be in a restroom simple alone if at all possible, and thus I try to use, or utilize single use restrooms.
I have been trained, and certified professionally while working in my professional career capacity.
I was repeatedly, and many times, and certified in the PPE training, and or similar training, with the consistent practices of protection against harmful germs, bacteria, viruses, and disease, and bodily infectious bio-hazards etc.
(I DO NOT have germaphobia), however, I am Highly aware that the practices can increase a Persons Personal Protection, as well as providing protection towards others against such harmful forms of commutable disease etc, again as stated I have been certified in the PPE training, and or similar training, with the consistent practices of protection against harmful germs, bacteria, viruses, and disease, and bodily infectious bio-hazards etc.
I have noticed when I go to restrooms, or even men’s showering areas, that some person may come in usually now, with a phone and it’s on, and may have the possibility to be recording others, there is absolutely no reason to record someone in a private restroom, or shower bathroom.
I Do Not have these LIVE apps, that know of nor have used them on my phone.
With the live apps on phone you don’t know what may be going on, therefore, I am apprehensive, about utilizing a multiple use rest room, especially when people have there camera phones on.
I certainly have done nothing wrong, and should not be any reason to record a man or woman using the restroom.
I as I have expressed, and written on many occasions, I DO Not like to use multi-use restrooms for privacy, and peace of mind.
However, I do not like very unsanitary conditions with various preexisting bio-hazards, in a restroom before utilizing it.
I have NOTICED (Pre-existing used toilet paper), with fecal matter, urine, or bio hazard pathogens, or something else, on many, many occasions sitting inside of toilets, public restrooms, and household bathrooms as well.
Again just some of the reasons I (HIGHLY dislike) Public Bathrooms/ Restrooms.
Went to a station bathroom, were there was No soap, and No bathroom paper, other than a very small amount of Rerolled toilet paper, and the restroom was filthy.
And the toilet seat was a (Absolute Yucky Filthy Mess).
I Do Not like Public restrooms, and I really NEVER Have.
I would NOT use Public Restrooms unless, I found to be Absolutely necessary.
And on another day there was already a Large clump unknown Glob white Mucus, on the toilet rim as I have found several times in other bathrooms I have found and seen some of the most disgusting things in the public bathroom, and or restrooms, and occasionally even in household bathrooms as well.
I have seen (Vomit on seats, and floor), (Feces, on walls), (Feces on bathroom door handles), floor, (Feces on toilet handles) and even (Feces on the ceiling).
I don't know how anyone could manage to do that and leave it there.
Urine on toilet seats, and handles I have seen other biohazard pathogens,
(like bloody Unknown matter inside of sinks,
Heavy Amounts of various Hairs, (in sinks and in and around toilets, and also (in showers)
Gooey Globs of unknown Yucky stuff on toilet seats.
I couldn't leave such a mess for others after I use the restroom.
Therefore, if any person takes certain precautionary measures to avoid any hazardous microorganisms, (germs) etc.
If a person a criticized for making simple attempts to practice certain safeguards against the spread of infection, disease, germs, viruses, bad bacteria, dirt, biohazards, and hazardous bodily fluid pathogens and other microorganisms, and or other potential contagious forms of commutable diseases, which cause illnesses and sicknesses.
Then if the person is further criticized, or for the practices of disease prevention, and Safeguards against the spread of infectious various contagions.
Then (there may be another (problematic issue of Criticism) which may be taking place. (Scapegoating)
The Practices may include washing of the hands, cleaning, and or wiping bloodbourne pathogens, infected surfaces, or filthy surface areas, either before, and or after use.
Such as: Sanitizing of the hands, and or other filthy surfaces. The cleaning to reduce the potential and spread of infections forms of disease, and microorganisms’ germs, bad bacteria, feces, urine, fecal matter.
Currently where I reside, or have resided, (I am not the only person which has practiced cleaning), including the owners, or renters, tenants etc. of the home, or residences, in which I have currently, or previously been residing, he, or she has also cleaned, and sanitized his kitchen, and bathrooms, several times.
There are many people through this country, and else where who practice precautionary respective sanitary prevention of the spread of infectious diseases, and bio-hazards.
by wiping off the PRE-EXISTING GOOK, or GOOEY, GOOKY, YUCKY, STICKY, UNKNOWN STUFF, in or on the restroom toilet seat, and floor, on handles.
I personally clean behind myself, unless there is something else present to be cleaned, including any preexisting /bio-hazards pathogenic conditions etc., and it has to be clean also.
therefore it is clean and sanitary for the next person respectively.

It probably works well if you're searching for all occurrences of the word "toilet" in order to find out what everyone on this site has ever had to say about the philosophy of toilets. But one thing I find annoying is that if you search for a term that is deemed to be too common, it doesn't return any results. It just says something like "that term is too common". Frankly, I think the search feature of this website is a snob.

Anyway, I guess this topic is about the good old "Tragedy of the Commons" - the "someone else's problem" problem. I don't think that, in itself, can be pinpointed as the cause of conflict in the world. It's just the reason why we're all doomed.
