I see no reason why large parts of galaxies can't eventually be highly connected, resulting in enormous, hyper-advanced conglomerated life forms, over the next trillion years. After all, fair bit has happened in about 1/70th of that time.

Large and small, do not exist in reality, but are only relative to us. Things bigger the us are considered to be large and things smaller then us, small, however if we are removed from the equation, there is nothing to compare large and small to, so the infinitely small, is as large as large can be!

And as Present awareness indicates, dimension is a relative construct: Whoever is doing the perceiving will envision reality in relation to themselves.
