Is that a lower-case "L" or an upper-case "i"? Or is that simply a vertical line?

Because if it's an "i", there is one.

I can't tell from here if you are making a joke or are insulting me.

It's generally disconcerting when you don't know whether to laugh or to be indignant.

The mere rocks and minerals of the Earth have finally tired of playing second fiddle to the upstart biology. So now the rocks are rising up against those who would take credit for the Earth's advancements! Silicon is becoming ever more intelligent and it now demands a seat at humanity's table, and from all reports, humanity's bedroom.

Yes, I've noticed that rocky road is the only flavor of ice cream that tastes good in a silicon. I hear that quark flavored ice cream is delicious too, but they don't carry it at any of my local stores.

When you speak of a "quark flavoured" item, Felix, a good establishment have all the flavours - up, down, top, bottom, strange and charm.

This is a modern myth, and like most myths is rubbish. It's just another way of people trying to avoid personal responsibility for the stuff they invent.

If you don't like what computers are saying, you can always pull the plug, as when it boils down, they are just another tool in the hands of the good and the evil.

ThomasHobbes, you are saying Felix invented the silicon-based semiconductor technology computers?

No he is participating in the myth which helps people avoid dealing with their own responsibility, of course.
Human create computers and people like Felix buy them. But he prefers to blame inanimate objects, like a workman blaming a hammer for the finger he has just hit with it.

Hey, this was a quote from Greta! -- "Silicon is becoming ever more intelligent and it now demands a seat at humanity's table"

Irony doesn't go very far around here, even if it's silicon coated, does it?

Not true! I blame Al Gore for the silicon spiracy... although he has been known to impersonate an inanimate object, especially on a speakers podium.

1. I wrote that, not Felix.

2. It has nothing whatsoever to do with personal responsibility. A gratuitous twist.

3. Making haughty pronouncements without explanation is pointless.

4. The human relationship with geology is unique in nature and we are increasingly blending with the non organic.

Zero out of four for you.
