No Embedded Quotations

Post by Belinda »

No embedded quotes is a rule that I struggle with when I try to answer . My latest attempt is trying to answer a good objection from Spiral Out , in the Religion section. Please would someone advise on the best way to answer an entire long post from someone else whilst including all the questions and also what the questioner refers to?

I do like to highlight the questions that I am answering because, without the old quote boxes which we formerly had, it is not at all easy sometimes to make out which is quote and which answer. The indentation as marker seems less obvious than it should be for clarity.

I think I will adjust the code to allow one level deep of embedded quotes.
My entire political philosophy summed up in one tweet.

"The mind is a wonderful servant but a terrible master."

I believe spiritual freedom (a.k.a. self-discipline) manifests as bravery, confidence, grace, honesty, love, and inner peace.

I have made that change. Although, I will need to troubleshoot the search results page as now nested quotes may incorrectly be displayed in search results as if they are not a quote.

Thanks Scott. I don't understand though, I thought perhaps we could have one nested quote within a frame of lines as previously.

You can now do this:
Scott wrote:
Someone Else wrote:Blah blah blah
Blah blah blah
***

The code for the above:

Code: Select all

Blah blah blah
Blah blah blah
