How long?

Wow... that was bizarre. I was not directing my comments at anyone other than Scott... and wasn't even thinking of the person who responded to me! But it's sure interesting to see what comes out of people sometimes when they get all wound up in their heads. I'm female, by the way... so I'm not a son of anything. And it's my right to appreciate what I've personally experienced of Leo.

Its very embarassing for me to have talked this way in this forum, and I don't know how to even ask for forgiveness. But in an attempt to make people here understand why I had said all such things, I would like to tell that this is all because of drunked condition that I was in yesterday. I hope you people can understand and have a good place for me in your heart. I don't know how to say, but I would ask for forgiveness to all of you here.

I will ask Scott Sir to delete my post if he can, please. I think as he know from where I am, he very well know what was the time when I posted that reply. It was around 1:00 AM of the night, the time when I was generally drunked, and all my bad posts, bad comments and bad behavior comes in this time, and I think I was very drunked yesterday especially.

I have to attend a marriage ceremony today in another town which is 2 hours away from here and the ceremony going to start in 1 hour from now, but I am here to ask for forgiveness for all what I have done yesterday. So I hope you all will forgive me and will forget it completely.

Lacewing, it is all because of alcohol, and I am very embarassed. I ask for forgiveness with joined hands to you. I hope you can understand. It is not my real nature, believe me. I am very peaceful and defensive person rather than attacking and violent, no matter how much I talk about violence, murder, genocide and mass murdering. That's not my real nature, believe me. I think there is a great deal of anger in me, which comes out in between. I would like if you can forget this completely, and maintain a good discussion between us. I was about to reply you in my thread but never got a time, but I think I will do that soon and you will reply to it leaving behind all the bad behavior from me. I don't know what happen yesterday. I am sorry.

Which you seem to have no qualms about loading on to poor old gay people, I note. Maybe the problem is with you rather than them?

As they say, in vino veritas - and you noted that you have much anger in you. You really should get that checked out. If you're repressing a volcano like that little Vesuvius then it can't be good for you.

Oki, would you now agree that Leo deserves another chance since that you may have issues with moderation after the outburst? Is the forum like heaven - it doesn't matter what you do as long as you repent and eat humble pie afterwards?

I haven't been around as long as you Greta and Lacewing but I must say that I enjoyed Leo's posts and I agree with you re Neo and Steve. I hope people get a chance to mend their ways after a period absence rather than be subject to a perpetual ban which seems a bit extreme. We're only human, all too human, and part of that is making mistakes. Even Okisites, whose comments really have beyond the pale lately, ought to get another chance. But that's just my opinion. It can't be easy trying to keep places like this sane and I guess it's up to Scott to draw the line where he chooses.

What's wrong with being a child of a prostitute anyway? Empathy for ladies of the night, anyone?

Especially tough call for girls who go on the game after abuse from a family member/s, and it seems that for some that unfair stigma and shame even carries through to the next generation. Or those who are trying to feed their family. Or those trying to get an education without parental money to back them up.

Sex workers perform an important role in civilized Human societies, and they risk their health and life doing it.

There's nothing wrong with trading money for sex, and sex for money.

I wonder how many actually enjoy their jobs or at least prefer it over a regular job. It can't be an easy or pleasant line of work. Still, the demand must be there or the supply wouldn't be. I think sex workers perform a necessary function by offering relief of sexual tension that might otherwise be channeled towards unwilling victims.

Perhaps the sex worker concentrates more on how it feels more than on the other aspects of romantic relationships (looks, smells, personality, etc.). I suppose it might be gratifying sometimes to them. It would be interesting to interview them, and find out.

It is worrisome, how the sex workers came to their employment. Not all of them are necessarily victims, except for the stigma it carries. Maybe they are, and they are simply being exploited for their need of money. There will come a time that they no longer work or find anyone interested in them, so they might have to retire and go on doing the other things they do in their spare times.

Yes, by all means they should be covered as any other citizen. Their rights ensured, and given securities. It would be great that every sex worker feels just as satisfied as any of their customers for doing what they do; that there's an equal trade off. But I suppose that's not always the case, as it isn't the case for your everyday person.

It's important to find out, however, what got them in the position they hold. Are these broken down people? Have they been subjected to any physical, emotional, or psychological abuse?

There may be an element of power and submission in some sexual interactions. Some human beings may want to free themselves from any of these tendencies or inclinations because their intuitions or reasoning tells them it's not safe. Not necessarily unsafe that they might lose their lives (through violence, disease, etc.), but unsafe that it might affect their psychologies, future interactions, social standing, burden them with children, affect their financial statuses, etc. Maybe human beings will always have that struggle between the sex drive and its consequences in the social/world context it takes place. The easier the world and the lives, the freer. But maybe, the freer the women...
