I agree. Also where is the view your posts button?Empiricist-Bruno wrote:As a mentioned before, the new design looks quite nice and more modern, I'm happy about this. There is one thing that I lament however and that is the length of the lines which makes the reading more difficult in my opinion.

Re: The New Forum Design
Web readability is improved by shorter lines, but the problem would be far less if more members understood netiquette and avoided using long paragraphs. A formal approach to paragraphs is naive and inappropriate in online discussion. It is much more difficult to read and comprehend from a screen so long paragraphs online greatly reduce the chance of one's post being read.
As a minor branding matter, the old B&W yin & yang symbol used as the site's favicon no longer matches the forum's look and feel and would ideally also be replaced.

Re: The New Forum Design
I increased the default font-size for text inside posts to hopefully make the text easier to read with less words per line. However, the text flows with screen size, so I imagine those having that problem are reading on a widescreen or desktop like me. The main reason for the new site layout is to make it more fluid for modern devices which can range from tiny vertical cell phones to big horizontal desktops. If it continues to be an issue for anyone, please specify your device so I can implement a solution that affects only members with that kind of device rather than everyone.
I have updated the favicon image to match the color scheme.
I added a 'view your posts' link to the search links on the forum index.
Again, thanks for the suggestions and feedback.

There seems to be a fair bit of forum upgrading going on so I gather phpBB has recently upgraded? I haven't tested the new design on the phone yet, though.
Like everyone, I wouldn't mind being able to edit. I think the platform has an option that allows administrators to set time limits on editing. Would you think that a fair balance between authenticity and quality of postings?

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to recreate this problem. What browser do you use? You can't update the browser?LuckyR wrote:I use an antiquated browser at work so I am not sure if the fact I can't get the Font color button to work is my problem or the Forum's.

Great! Thanks for the feedback.Greta wrote:I've checked my phone. Nice change - much easier to navigate.
I don't have a phone, so I regularly use the website on a big desktop computer. So if you do notice anything difficult or problematic when using a phone or other mobile device, please let me know.

I am pretty sure that they use Internet Explorer 8.
