If FIND(String) = True

The subject of your topic is similar to existing topics
(I couldn't even make this the subject line of this post!)

I couldn't even use "Irritating Site Algorithm" as the subject line of this post, either.

The issue was that my subject line contained a word similar to other subject lines.

Example: Post (http://onlinephilosophyclub.com/forums/ ... =2&t=14122)
The subject line is "Spectroscopy" because I couldn't choose "Spectrums of Existence and Analysis" due to 'existence' and 'analysis' already being used. Are these not common words in philosophy and you are telling me that I can't use that subject line? The real point is that the site's algorithm is supposing that those other posts are making the same point as mine due to a If FIND(String) = True function.

I think it is too strict. The forum rules state: "H.1. Use a descriptive and specific title so that other users know the topic." I DO want to make descriptive and specific titles, but perhaps the site's algorithm could be modified?

Rather than merely 1 word triggering the algorithm, how about if the subject line matches 50% of words in another post's subject line?

(Pardon me if this has been addressed before or somewhere. I did attempt a site search.)

I believe that message is just a warning, and you can then still post the topic if you find none of the similar matches deals with the topic already.

Mind blown.

Thanks for the help.
