I wanted to insert the actual photo of Eros, in my reply to Nada, (epistemilogy and metaphysics)but how is this done please?I got the image via Google, but all I could post was the URL.

You have to wrap the images actual URL in the img bbcode tags. Remember, you must use the URL of the image, not the URL of a page in which the image happens to be embedded.

Remember to make sure the image isn't too big for the screen.

Is there a way to place an image on this website and then refer to it?

Aside from avatars, no user images would be held on the forum's server. Rather, links will refer to offsite images.
