In a feminist thread I posted:

"What do you call a naked feminist in bed?"
"Alone"

Scott deleted my post because, ostensibly, a sexual innuendo regarding a woman (and a feminist doesn't have to be a woman. he assumed it is) is a no no whereas one targeted toward men is not.

That is the victory of feminism...

Men who treat women like they can't take a joke like a man can. Where's the equality in that you male chauvinist, Scott?

Tragic - I have to ask a question because I honestly do not understand.

Why would a naked feminist in bed be considered alone?

I am not always too swift on the update of things so need some explanation / help on this one.

Thanks and sorry for coming off as stupid on this one.

A female feminist is a woman who hates men. What man wants to be with a woman like that?

A male feminist, BTW, is gay or a politician trying to get votes.

thanks

personally, I see no reason to have that type of post removed

and also I suppose a naked feminist could be in bed with another woman or sheep or whatever

and there will always be a guy for any woman and vice versa

Tragicjoke, I think it is sad that you have this perception of all feminists.

Certainly there are those who use the feminist movement as a forum to spew hate against all men. This is an unavoidable consequence of any movement in which obtaining civil rights of a group is the goal. The radical extremists, unfortunately, seem to discredit the ones who only want equal rights, by their brazen display of a desire to replace the existing authoritarianism with their own. Perhaps in doing so, they help the cause of the less offensive. The demands of the more reasonable are obtained due to a compromise that might not otherwise have occurred. If not for the radical demands of the few who more emphatically demand attention, social change regarding equality for everyone, for the better of us all, may not take place.

I copied this from Wikipedia:
The feminist movement (also known as the Women's Movement, Women's Liberation, or simply, Women's Lib) is a series of campaigns on issues such as reproductive rights (sometimes including abortion), domestic violence, maternity leave, equal pay, voting rights, sexual harassment, and sexual violence. The goals of the movement vary from country to country, e.g. opposition to female genital cutting in Sudan, or to the glass ceiling in Western countries.

I split these posts from the thread they were posted in (which was about whether philosophy requires a high IQ) because they are off-topic.

Also, if one has a complaint or question about a moderators action, it does not belong in the on-topic parts of the forum. Please PM me or post the complaint or question in the feedback section.

Here is a copy of the post I deleted:

Alone.
That was the entire post, not just a snide aside within a post. Anyone who can not easily see why it was deleted needs to re-read the forum rules, particularly rules #2 and #5.

The on-topic parts of the forum are for sincere, open-minded, respectful discussion and debate. They are not for riddles, insults, ridicule or mockery. Offensive jokes are not allowed, at least in the on-topic parts of the forum. (This is regardless of the gender of people about whom the snide comments or jokes are made.) It's for posting philosophical arguments, questions and constructive criticisms of arguments in as understandable, sincere, polite and upfront a way as possible. It's not for using potentially offensive riddles or jokes.

There is a clear warning that everyone sees before posting that says, "Please be as nice, polite and respectful to other users as possible because even borderline posts will be deleted."

One can make try to make the case for any claim as long as it is on-topic, no matter how unpopular that claim is. But one must do it in a sincere, civil respectful way, must not have a rude, ridiculing or mocking tone and must not use jokes or riddles.
My entire political philosophy summed up in one tweet.

"The mind is a wonderful servant but a terrible master."

I believe spiritual freedom (a.k.a. self-discipline) manifests as bravery, confidence, grace, honesty, love, and inner peace.
