Please use the forum quote feature to quote other users; don't just put it in it's own paragraph with your own special formatting. How to use the quote function:

Code: Select all
Blah blah blah blah.
The above code will display as:
Blah blah blah blah.

Code: Select all
Blah blah blah blah.
The above code will display as:
Santa Claus wrote:Blah blah blah blah.

Code: Select all

Blah blah blah blah.
hip hip hip hop hip hop
The above code will display as:
The Easter Bunny wrote:
Santa Claus wrote:Blah blah blah blah.
hip hip hip hop hip hop

If you have any questions please ask!

So, this is my first try; let's see what it looks like.

It took a few tries, but I think I got it. By the way, I like your style: That's too funny!!

Hi,

There seems to be a problem with the quoting function- lately it seems to put in an incorrect name as the author. Have you noticed that. I can delete and redo it during proofread but there doesnt seem to be a reason for it. Okistises just said the same thing, so it cant just be me.

You can adjust your email preferences in the User Control Panel.

I find this is more clear, though it takes a little cutting and pasting:
The Easter Bunny wrote:Blah blah blah blah.
Santa Claus wrote:hip hip hip hop hip hop
Also, that way you can save relevant nested third generation quotes that are relevant in that conversation, although then you need to remove your name from your own quotes or your new and old quotes get stuck together.

There's always the "Reply with quote" button, the one in the top right of each post, with a double-quote character (") in it. Then you get the link back to the post quoted (the up-arrow - - to the right of Scott's name, above), which makes life easier for anyone trying to trace a conversation back through a topic - a more common occurrence than you might think.

Is there a way to quote on one thread something that was said on a different thread ?

(Posting on a phone, so DOS-tyoe control-C to copy a selected block of text isn't as easy as on a computer...)
