I feel I have been abused in participating in this forum and, due to my statements on ethics, may be at risk of personal danger. I want out of here but management will not tell me how to unsubscribe. Anyone here know how to domthat?

Indeed, I know we have had our differences, Fleetfoot, and I am prepared to apologize, if that will help.
We are a frozen spirit; our thoughts a cloud of droplets; different oceans and ages brood inside – where spirit sublimates. To some our words, an acid rain, to some it is too pure, to some infectious, to some a cure.

Neither of you has bothered me.. That is silly. How to get out of here is all I asked. Geez. It ought not be this hard. Is the place a trap?

What is the practical problem? Don't reply to posts, or dont open up philosophyclub on the browser.

The practical problem is a difference of opinion with Scott as to what is okay to say to each other in here. It's okay for someone to tell me I should have my skull broken, by him, because I differ in opinion from him, but it's not okay for me to reply "oooh bad ass". I get reprimanded. I have asked Scott through email and in various discussions how to get out of here and he remains mute. Apparently, he is willing to punish but not to help or provide information. I don't want to appear to be active in a forum I have left, nor do I want to continue to have my mailbox clogged up with notices of responses for the rest of my life. Maybe I can be obnoxious enough to get banned and that would stop the notifications and the, apparently purposeful, misrepresentation of active membership. Or, maybe I would continue to get those notices and not be able to access the forum to ever cut the cord that reaches to me from this site.

What a ridiculous place.

I was reprimanded once, by Scott, and I forget what the sin was. It did not matter very much to me at the time. Oh bad ass does not sound to me to be terribly insulting at all but perhaps where Scott lives it induces fear and trembling, or the person oh bad ass was addressed to may have taken offence.

It would interest me to investigate which common exclamations are regarded as evil, and where in the world they are so regarded and if possible why.

Philosophyclub is mild regarding personal insuts as compared with CIF on The Guardian where I read and occasionally post.

However the CIF moderator like God works in mysterious ways and does zap what she considers to be really bad. I expect that Scott would tell you if you asked as he is approachable. You are going off at half cock by leaving philosophyclub. If all you want is to stop getting email messages to indicate that someone replied to you I expect there is a button for it. Please, does anybody know where this button is?

I pressed some button on philosophyclub, on Scott's advice, in order that my posts would not have any so-called strong language Bowdlerised and it worked. This topic should all be at the bottom of the Board Index anyway in Feedback And Forum Announcements. Can we please have it transferred there ?

It's not that bad ass is such a bad statement. I don't find the insult of calling someone a poopyhead to be particularly hurtful. Yet, it is strictly prohibited. Personal attacks against other members are not allowed at all. The forum rules reflect this. Fleetfootphil's problem like I've heard so many times seemed to be that though his post clearly broke the forum rules by ridiculing and insulting another member, he is upset because he was replying to a post in which he was insulted. Yet the forum rules particularly address such a situation, explaining that responding in kind is not allowed and that users need to use the report button if they expect another post needs to be deleted. If someone called or physically threatened Fleetfootphil, all he had to do was use the report button to report the post and it would have been deleted. I invite any and all to read the forum rules and advise me if they do not clearly reflect what I have said in this post or to inform me of any suggested changes or complaints about the forum rules.
My entire political philosophy summed up in one tweet.

I believe spiritual freedom (a.k.a. self-discipline) manifests as bravery, confidence, grace, honesty, love, and inner peace.

You could try resetting your preferences in " User Control Panel' ' Board preferences' which should disable the email notifications...... or....

or alternatively you could try to enjoy pushing the boundaries and the slight quickening of the pulse as one breaks another rule.
