Thank You Link

I've seen other forums that provide a link button on each post that allow the other users a quick means of sending a short thank you message to the writer of the post. I find it to be a great way of getting people to acknowledge posts that are helpful or simply thoughtful. It's easier than taking the time to send a private message. Just click the button and send a quick thanks. It's always nice to know that your posts are appreciated.

Thanks :D

Nah, it sounds too similar to the "like" button on Facebook. Let's keep that garbage off this site.

I have considered a similar button, but instead of being "thanks" or "like", I was thinking "agree". The forum rules prohibit making posts in the on-topic section that just merely express a quick agreement, but many posters seem to want to do this on occasion.

I think that would cheapen this site into a popularity contest and result in weaker arguments. I recommend against it. I vote no.

I vote no also, seems kind of childish.

I agree with Spiral and Misty, but I don't have a button to click. :)
