Re: Greetings Forum!
You would need to take a university course in intro Philosophy and/or read a book about the history of philosophy before any of this will make any sense to you.MrT wrote:Im a 26 year old fellow who cant understand why i havent come up with the idea of joining here earlier!. I have not really studied any philosophy in school(or not much atleast), but i found it hard to be in such a strange place and not wonder and trying to figure out what all of this is. Physics have interessted me in the past years and influenced my thoughts aswell as cognitive sciences. Ive seen many interessting topics and feel excited to sink in to them!
Basically, Philosophy assumes nothing and starts by proving you yourself exist, then that everything else around you exists, then that either a Philosophy God created it and you or it all created itself somehow, then proceeds on to ethics, logic, teleology, and so forth.
I recommend Bertrand Russell's book "History Of Western Philosophy" for starters.
