But I live at present and here I am.Hopefully no longer a reader only but a provocative and valid contributor.

Don't you think you should get a move on and start contributing then before the bell tolls for thee?Recallthehorizon wrote:As John Donne once said,"Ask not for whom the bell tolls" so we need no introduction.

Problem with contributing seems to be the fact that it takes 1 day to get my message posted and another two or three before anyone replies.
Rather slow for a discussion I think!

As it turns out, most of the mods have things they would rather do so it's usually only me, a slow old cow who approves posts daily from the southern hemisphere, and thus is usually sleep as you type.
After 20 approved posts the algorithm decides that you are probably safe and then there is no delay. There are some more lively boards out there but I find them either too formal or too maniacal.

Well you seem to have got them to pull the stops out on this occasion, it's not ten minutes since I made the post you just replied to.Recallthehorizon wrote:Problem with contributing seems to be the fact that it takes 1 day to get my message posted and another two or three before anyone replies.

I am remarkably patient.I win most of my chess matches by virtue of the fact that opponents get bored and just walk away.I on the other hand think three hours is fairly reasonable.
Now the question is shall I return to Albinoni and his wonderful adagio for strings in G Minor or browse the forum?

Think yourself lucky, Recallthehorizon. Those poor buggers at SETI have to wait years for a reply from the aliens.Treat this as a philosophical exercise - re-learning patience in a rushed modern world

The world has been waiting for their posts to be approved for around forty years, so far. Snobbish darn aliens.Steve3007 wrote:Think yourself lucky, Recallthehorizon. Those poor buggers at SETI have to wait years for a reply from the aliens.
