Certainly in the Socratic view, not everyone loves to be wise, nor everyone be a philosophers. Most seek eros. Only the few philosophers seek wisdom and reason that transcends the love some have for that which they know rather than that which is truly worthy of loving (the Socratic view, not my own).By what the word philosopher means, every body is one since every body loves to be wise..with most not knowing that how to be wise is in Love of fools, since the first thing a wise man knows is that he is a fool.
Composites? I'm not sure exactly what you mean.It works out to the same thing when you love opposites and see that opposites are composites.
Aha. Here is how I should defend Socrates. Opinions held by philosophers are not themselves philosophy, it is the questions that are. Yes that is an opinion in of itself (perhaps Socrates might disagree), and hence it would seem the practice of philosophy is rather un-philosophic, as it holds opinions as to how philosophy should be practiced. So how can you rule without philosophy when at the same time you have a philosophy that no philosophy rules? lol
Yes, I apologize.Was some sentence-ending word omitted?
The opinions reached through philosophy are not themselves philosophy.
