If god does not exist, and we were to prove it, then that would be a step forward for humanity.
But to 'kill' god if god does exist(in whatever form) would be firstly, impossible and secondly, a denial of our true nature.

I don't think we have proved that God does not exist. What thinking people have done is understood objectively about man's religious quest.

Some thinking people have decided that the anthropomorphic God ,an invisible superman dwelling in |Heaven, is as unlikely to exist as an invisible superhorse that dwells in a spiritual pasture.

Other thinking people have decided for themselves that God is a name for the process by which humans can struggle beyond the horrors of life on Earth and make something good out of life, through compassion and wisdom.

It is interesting that in another thread you are arguing that the state should hold absolute authority to determine the beliefs of its citizens regarding the Holocaust even to the point of criminalizing the utterance doubt. At least be consistent in your position against "authoritarianism."

There are just more Catholics around rather than them being authoritarian. As for Belindas comments on corrupt Priests they are being dealt with as she speaks. Paedophilia occurs in schools and day nursery..and other professions entrusted with children..it is not correct thinking to sweepingly tar and feather all priests as the same as those rogue ones whom enter a profession intent on gaining free access to children for their own twisted pathos..that and the fact my uncle was a catholic priest and was wholly an example of decency and normality makes that comment made by Belinda illogical and insulting to the many who are in it for the right reasons.

I could not participate in the poll, because the question is phrased much like the question, "How often do you beat your wife?"

Since "God" does not exist, cutting of "His" head is not possible, and therefore cannot be a benefit to anyone...
