Non-Philosophical Stuff

Chat about anything your heart desires here, just be civil. Factual or scientific questions about philosophy go here (e.g. "When was Socrates born?"), and so most homework help questions belong here. Note, posts in the off-topic section will not increase new members post counts. This includes the introductions and feedback sections.

Non-Philosophical Stuff

Post by Symmetry44 »

[Moderation note: This thread was split from the thread, A Philosophical Exploration Of Happiness, because it is off-topic.]

Appreciate the opinion oh wise one, but who did you say you were again in the realm and scheme of all that is, not to mention in my life?
Oh yes, one man with one opinion like the rest of the FREE world, lol.
At least my comments, whatever you coin them, were pursuant to the topic at hand and never berated anyone at any time, hence the fact that people were engaging them within the lines of the topic at hand.

So thank you for falling off topic and forcing me to do so as well.
I apologize gang for this individuals rudeness, as well as my own subsequent retort.
Now, shall we all continue to play nice or just be insultingly regressive?
Damn man. It's a conversation, not the end-all, be-all. Chill yo lmao.....That's what happens when pretentious self-importance rules the mindsets of those who think theirs is the only one that counts.

I'm not trying to be rude. And yes, you are entitled to your own opinion. However, your opinion should fall within the category of philosophy when you are posting in a philosophy forum. What you posted was not philosophy, regardless of your opinion, because that's just fact -- look up a serious definition of philosophy sometime.

Hi Symmetry44 and pjkeeley, I split this back and forth from the other thread because it is off-topic.

You can continue this off-topic discussion if you want, but it might be easier to just forget about it. If you do, please be very careful to be be as nice as possible.

Remember, ad hominem arguments are strictly disallowed, and I won't have any pity or mercy for people who do not try to be as nice and polite as possible.

In the future, try to stay on-topic in threads. If you want to branch into an off-topic discussion, simply start a new thread instead. You can always post a link in the old thread to the new thread.
My entire political philosophy summed up in one tweet.

"The mind is a wonderful servant but a terrible master."

I believe spiritual freedom (a.k.a. self-discipline) manifests as bravery, confidence, grace, honesty, love, and inner peace.
