We Need More Academic Philosophy on Here

Use this philosophy forum to discuss and debate general philosophy topics that don't fit into one of the other categories.

This forum is NOT for factual, informational or scientific questions about philosophy (e.g. "What year was Socrates born?"); such homework-help-style questions can be asked and answered on PhiloPedia: The Philosophy Wiki. If your question is not already answered on the appropriate PhiloPedia page, then see How to Request Content on PhiloPedia to see how to ask your informational question using the wiki.

Failing that join other philosophy forums where the academic approach is more welcome.

And it's condensed gold matey, I contribute wherever tis necessary, but I don't feed the fire of bad questions. Seek and ye shall find homes. I keep it nasty, brutish and short.

Why worry about the need for academic philosophy threads, when we already have great content like this thread, this page, these last six posts?

I have no further need of books or the university when I can hang out here to learn about post counts.

It was just a joke mate, chill out. Take what I say with a pinch of salt. I'll go easy on the ad homs for now, but to me it was just playful banter

If you were half the philosopher you thought you are you might know what an ad hominem is, clearly you do not.
