Seriously? That article covers 1990 to 2019. Not a demonstration of "all time".mystery wrote: ↑July 22nd, 2021, 11:11 pmObjective data that is in support of your comment. And it is getting worse.Sculptor1 wrote: ↑April 15th, 2021, 2:13 pmInequality is at an all time high.

This next link has a longer time span, same result. As you know the whole thing is like the markets, goes up and down, but mostly goes up.

Re: Equality
It is well known that the Modern shift of wealth towards the wealthy started (in the US) in 1964 with the lowering of the top income tax bracket. Your second article starts coverage in 1968, so is much too short-sighted. When viewed historically, wealth has shifted away from the wealthy... until 1964, afterwards (a brief section of time) I agree with you.mystery wrote: ↑July 23rd, 2021, 4:37 am you are correct, this article is only the current trajectory and the recent history that we have and are living in that the current social policies might be the cause of.

Re: Equality
do you mean when a king owned everything? yes, that would have been the ultimate, but if the king was a good man it probably was ok. if he was greedy then not so good.LuckyR wrote: ↑July 23rd, 2021, 7:48 pmIt is well known that the Modern shift of wealth towards the wealthy started (in the US) in 1964 with the lowering of the top income tax bracket. Re: Equality
We are all part of something larger than ourselves, this is an excellent principle for one to be devoted to, the greatest good to the greatest number of people. That which has been traditionally deemed democracy, fighting for freedom and equality, has in reality been an imperialist sham, just continuing the colonialist traditions of the past. It is a melody the West loves to sing, well it robs the traditionally technologically weaker nations. Democracy is in and of itself a fine idea, but, the West has constantly fouled its meaning and used it pretentiously in its global aggressions. A new day has dawned, and it's called the BRICS. As we move from the American unipolar world to that of a multipolar world, it is the end of colonialism cloak as democracy.Nick_A wrote: ↑April 15th, 2021, 12:38 pmIt seems America is losing its initial goal of equality in individual liberty and now is moving towards the celebration of collective slavery and equality in nothing. Why?“Democracy extends the sphere of individual freedom, socialism restricts it. Democracy attaches all possible value to each man; socialism makes each man a mere agent, a mere number. Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word: equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude.”
