Ultimate Advantageousness - the Goal of Existence
How do my philosophies (shown below) compare to known philosophy?
*Often I use quotation marks and slashes to highlight points that seem definitely ambiguous - I'm not familiar with terminology that may be established.
My philoshopies - namely the ultimate goal of existence:
------------
The "ultimate objective", or the "thing of most importance" while extisting, is to be advantageous - this is a statement based on two concepts that I seem to "sum up everything logically":
1. "ultimate objective" - what is most fundamental to existing
2. "advantageousness" - what is successful, what happens ideally. Advantagousness is characterised by "experiencing" positive and/or negative sensations, and decided from the NET sensation at the "end of experiencing them". That's just to say, achieving more positive sensation than negative over a lifetime means being advantageous.
Following this, the question becomes: What fundamentally are sensations? Or at least, what are sensations "physically"? I've tried to "practically" pick this notion apart using logic that agree with my experiences. If they are distinctly physical, what happenings of the brain defines sensation? Dopamine? The state of neurons? Other chemicals released? These physical descriptions of sensation must have a state - a place, position, and time. Can it be generally described?
We know sensation "pathways" are dictated by biology to continue the existence of humanity, but it seems the pathways themselves don't perfectly enforce that objective.
Then, considering psychology, the reason for not being advantageous is because of "instincts" - a notion I realise does not relate much to philosophy. Regardless, it seems more important than other philosophical and psychological discussion to know what causes different sensations so we can exploit reality to give us an advantageous result.
There's a lot more I have reckoned about psychology that mostly answer: Why do we live imperfect lives?, and Where does disadvantageousness come from?
------------
What do you say about this?
What resources can anyone point me towards, to help me understand?

Re: Ultimate Advantageousness - the Goal of Existence
Reading through what you have written it seems to me that you are wondering about purposes behind existence. It is a large area of thought, because it could be approached from many angles, including evolutionary biology, or physics.
I think that you are also considering a number of issues rather than just one, by connecting it to psychology, and you appear to be seeking to understand how it is all interconnected, and what is going on behind all the various aspects of existence. In thinking about the advantageous aspects it is about the nature of causality, which may be hard to pinpoint, and we are only able to construct our meanings and interpretations of this. In speaking of states and sensations they appear to be connected to the brain, but it is questionable if they are mere products of the brain.
In speaking of what occurs for the continued existence of humanity we could ask what is going on with the destructive aspects too, including ecological devastation and war? Is it all really advantageous and how much conflict and competition is there between the various components. Also, what is the role of the human being in all of this. Are human beings the ultimate development in the grand scheme and what is going to happen in the future?

Can't your goal be summed up with: "Survive and experience pleasure"?Sebrof wrote: ↑September 18th, 2021, 10:45 am My philoshopies - namely the ultimate goal of existence:

It seems to me that survival is most fundamental to existing and by "advantageousness" you simply mean net pleasure. If this is right then your goal is to survive and experience pleasure. This view would be called Hedonism.

Re: Ultimate Advantageousness - the Goal of Existence
Regarding the reason behind wars when our purpose is to continue our existence - very simple and easy explanation - technology is developing faster than mentality, emphasis on the slower growth of mentality, where our instincts don't match our current predicament. Our instincts revolve around sensations. If our sensations just so happen to make us continue humanity's existence, that's because evolution has done its thing. We don't fight wars for our country - we fight wars to be individually advantageous (or at least, that's what we think is most advantageous).
Regarding causality in advantageousness - None of that matters. Sure, everything happens as was set out in the beginning, but that doesn't influence the classification of something existing in a particular way. The fact that sensations are products of the brain is what makes them important to be classified.
