Whose Lives Have Value?

There are no shortage of folks who can see advertising as just that: slogans to get you to spend money. However, there is a substantial minority who buy the ads hook, line and sinker, specifically because the ads agree with (and reinforce) their personal worldview.

It's not love unless you inject some intellectual energy into it. Is there something in the water that makes people complacent?

It doesn't take very much mental energy to agree with someone who says what you're already thinking.

Processing the slogan you need this gun to protect yourself from those black hoodlums requires no personal intellectual energy expenditure nor effort for many.

Unless the individual has done quite a lot of work to free himself from ignorance he is not free but is a slave to his own ineptness and laziness.

Unfortunately for all of us, technological advances have (inadvertantly) served as crutches to protect mental laziness from being selected against evolutionarily.
