Foucault's ideas were definitely extremely important but some other writers like Lyotard, Derrida and Baudrillard's were also important too. I am still planning to read Lacan as well, even though it is likely to be a difficult read. The work I read by Foucalt was a collection of his writings not the full book, 'The Archaelogy of Knowledge.'
