¿Hay alguien acá que le encanta filosofar en castellano? Ya he buscado en todos partes en el foro, pero no he visto nada con respecto al español.

Si puede hablar castellano y/o quiere practicar un poco; vamos a hacerlo entonces.

Why have you chosen to write a thread which is not written in English? It means that it will only be understood by a minority. Or, perhaps I am lacking through not having the multi linguistic skills as I don't know what you are saying, and, perhaps, others will. However, while I am not suggesting that English should be the universal of importance, I am still puzzled why you have chosen to write in another language as you appear proficient in English, and everyone else is writing in English.

Hi Jack. Let’s not forget that most philosophers write/think in their native language. I could/will make it a two way comment English/Castellano if you fancy it.

I don't really mind if I am excluded from this discussion. What I do feel though is that this thread being written not in English makes a precedent for people to write in any language they choose. Of course, I am not saying that they are not entitled to. It could just make it become a 'Tower of Babel', when philosophy is so confusing anyway. I just don't understand the need to write in a native language when the poster has written two threads in English previously. It'll be interesting to see how this thread works and who knows it may be that the majority of readers have far greater language abilities than me and that I am simply ignorant because I can only write philosophy in English. But, I don't wish to create an issue and I am simply puzzled.

Sorry if it has caused an issue. If an admin finds it unnecessary or too much, please feel free to delete the thread. I do not particularly care. It was not my intention to stir the pot.

I have looked around online and have not found any philosophy forums in Spanish, so I rolled the dice here on this site to see if anyone else would jump in. I am an English native and yes, philosophy is difficult, and to comprehend it in a second (or more) language is very personally gratifying; at least for me.

Hola JDBowden. No sé si está permitido por las reglas debatir en español. ¡Pero sería refrescante! Ya tengo mi par de años aquí, machucando mi inglés con estos angloparlantes.

It is probably fortunate to be able to speak many languages. I did learn some French and German at school but not to the point where I could converse or write in these languages. I live with people who are from different countries and some of them can speak many languages and I am amazed by their ability to do this..I guess that your thread is experimental.and you are getting Spanish replies. I just hope that this doesn't mean that you will write all your future threads in Spanish or people like me will end up having to buy Spanish dictionaries!
