Seeing the future as a scientific fact

Post by Xris »

http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn1 ... 4MNvq3TW2c I found this report and wondered if it ever became acceptable what philosophical consequences could be developed. Is time an illusion? If we can see the future is the future written before we can influence it? What else becomes possible if science has the ability to prove we can preconceive the future?

I think it has been suspected for some time that time, as we tend to understand it, does not actually exist. I think this will more call into question the validity of our understanding of consciousness rather than prove that it is possible to see into the future.

Sorry but are you not contradicting yourself? If time is misunderstood then it does become possible for us to view events out of our time frame. The extensive tests in scientific terms indicate we do have that ability.

It doesn't follow that there are events out of our time frame if time does not actually exist, at least not as we understand it. I am not sure what "extensive tests in scientific terms" you are referring to. Would you care to elaborate?

Time as we experience it, is our frame of reference. We only see the present by experiencing the past. The present never exists. These experiments are clearly indicating , using the scientific method, we are capable of predicting the future beyond chance. It can not be simply using information to guess the future. The figures indicate we have the ability to see the future just like we see past invents.
