Luckily here in Portland the venues are pretty small compare compared to LA and the NE. Also thanks to the secondary ticket market you can get seats anywhere you want.Greta wrote:If you can, see them in the smallest possible venue. I saw them in Sydney's Entertainment Centre, which is a big, echoey stadium and it spoiled the gig for me. I love the Dan's jazzy textures and ideas, but nuances get lost in stadiums and it detracted. The other Dan fans I attended with felt the same.LuckyR wrote:I am not going to be in California for the announced spring Steely Dan concerts, still hoping they have a national tour in the summer.

Uummm... this is the country music thread (in a Philosophy Forum), so even a tangential SD reference will add dramatically to the philosophy quotient.

Ok, I'll admit I'm partial to some of the golden oldies like Dusty Springfield's Stand by Your Maaayan and Tammy Wynette's Wishing and Hoping but they don't write them like that any more.
Cheers

My daughter loves country music, as for myself I seldom listen to music. I see nothing wrong with country music. Although I prefer classical music.
