It's definitely left me. As a kid I hated "penmanship" class. I'm old so we used to have this. When I started working they put a computer keyboard in front of me and I've rarely hand-written anything since. I can no longer write cursive. I block-print when I'm forced to write something by hand. I can sign my name, that's about it.Philosophy Explorer wrote:I do cursive writing and I can read it as well as write. I heard on tv that cursive writing will be a thing of the past due to computers. Now I know we have to give our signatures to documents to show our approval. And I think there are those who enjoy writing in cursive. So do you think that cursive writing is going out of style?
Is this a problem? I don't know how to shoe a horse either, or light a gas lamp, or till a field. But I can drive a car, program a computer, and type. What of it?
Do you speak Latin? In the past, no person could call himself educated if he didn't speak Latin.

On this, I realised how much I contradict myself.Dirty Universe wrote:Communication is communication.
I look (or try to look) at everything at a very basic standard. Ie: Food= food, it is sustenance. Eat it, it lets you live.
So I would like to reposition myself on this topic-
If it allows us to communicate, it is good and thus does its job, allows humans to communicate.
