It only goes on forever angryy, if you can make sense any part of the scenario occurring “outside” perceptual conditions. If no one is around who is there to make meaning of the event?

God is in the quad, eh? That’s Berkeley’s Idealism. But if things are there in the mind of god vs there’s are just there, what is the difference between the two aside from the “invisible” contribution made by interpreting things as god’s ideas? The latter is an article of faith only. Or is there more?

I feel that regardless of the presence of anybody, when a tree falls, it falls. This is because looking at the Traditional definition of knowledge, the truth-condition is considered an objective condition. Thus, regardless of the presence of a perceiver, what is, is.

Seeing as all meaning is the product of a conscious subject, there is no truth or false to speak of, what is known is cognitively known, subject and object stand or fall together, they are mutually dependent, to hear, is a meaning and only consciousness can bestow meaning into the physical world. So no there is no sound where there is not consciousness. The tree is perhaps aware of its own fall, but that is acknowledging the consciousness of the tree.
