But I still contend it shows a lack of emotional intelligence, because to the person of conscience, there is nothing nebulous about moral good and evil, the distinction between the two is clear-cut.

Well, I'm working with the definition of moral nihilist which I double checked in few different places.
Of course, for you, someone who is not a moral nihilist, it is going to seem that way.But I still contend it shows a lack of emotional intelligence, because to the person of conscience, there is nothing nebulous about moral good and evil, the distinction between the two is clear-cut.

Okay I need your opinion on this..Karpel Tunnel wrote: ↑August 24th, 2019, 8:11 am Notice emotive pressures. Note 'absolute'. They think that ideas about morals are cultural, not objective. But that doesn't mean that they can't love, want friends, feel empathy
precisely like someone
prefers vanilla to chocolate
nature to city
or whatever.
But since most people are born with and continue to have functional empathy systems, take pleasure in social activities, fall in love, want friends and so on, a moral nihilist, despite believing there are absolute morals, can function very similarly via their social preferences and ones they do not assume everyone has, nor do they assume everyone should have the same ones.
Just like atheism, moral nihilists can’t prove amorality because you can’t prove a negative. Just like how you can't prove that God doesn't exist etc etc .. correct?
If you want to reject moral nihilism (like how theists want to reject non-believers..), you have the burden of proof - just like religious people when arguing for God's existence.
Would you agree with that?

Re: Moral Nihlism
These can't both be true. Believing there is a difference between right and wrong is morality. So you can't both believe that and believe there is no morality.
It's not uncommon to use "moral nihilism" to refer to a belief that there is no objective morality--that is, that morality isn't found in the extramental world. But you certainly believe in subjective morality--morality as a mental phenomenon, as something that people think a la valuing one action over another. This doesn't amount to there being "no morality." That mental set of values or preferences (about interpersonal behavior that one considers more significant than etiquette) is what morality is.
