The plastic pollution in the ocean is estimated to kill millions of seabirds and more than 100,000 animals each year, and the toxins also affect reproduction and animal welfare.

In some areas larger than land continents, there is 6x more plastic in the water compared to plankton. There are zones in the ocean that are called 'death zone' where no fish can live.
A group of top scientists indicate that Earth is on the brink of a mass extinction that could drive a million species, or one in eight, into oblivion in the coming decades.

(2020) Scientists: Multiple eco-crises could trigger a 'systemic collapse'
Overlapping environmental crises could tip the planet into "global systemic collapse," more than 200 top scientists warned Wednesday.

The Amazon rainforest is expected to be gone within decades.
https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-00508-4The Amazon rainforest is approaching a threshold that, once crossed, could see one of the world's largest and richest ecosystems turn into an arid savanna within decades, scientists say.
The Amazon ecosystem could pass a point-of-no-return next year, Willcock and colleagues reported.

An article on current politics in Brazil (a country nearly the size of the US), noted that much of the rainforest will be burned in the coming years to unlock its industrial treasures.

(2020) The Amazon Rainforest's Indigenous People Might Be Earth's Last Hope
https://www.ecowatch.com/indigenous-peo ... 27056.htmlBrazil's divisive president has taken another step in his bold plans to develop the Amazon rainforest. One-fifth of the jungle is to be burned in the coming years.
"I'm not getting into this nonsense of defending land for the Indians," he added.
A Brazilian general who last year served on the board of Canadian mining giant Belo Sun heads Brazil's federal agency for indigenous peoples.
Some articles state that the rainforest will be gone by 2050. Brazil's rainforest industrial development began in 2019 (the president has been in office since January 2019), which may accelerate deforestation.
(2020) The Amazon's impending tipping point puts the biome and the world at risk, scientists warn
Scientists say the tipping point can be reversed with strong environmental policies. However, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro is going in the opposite direction, with plans to develop a fifth of the Amazon, including industrial mining and agribusiness, building cities, roads, dams and other infrastructure.

Dumping of toxic waste in oceans
When a Dutch fortune 500 company does it with ease, as is evident from the internal communication by the CEO of Trafigura BV – “Beyond Dover, and certainly not in the Baltic Sea.” – it may happen much more often than is known.
Poison may not be visible using satellites when it merges with the water.
The poison that was dumped by Trafigura BV was a by-product of a process to increase the value of petrol, which is done at open sea.
The poison was such severely toxic that the city of Amsterdam denied to process it. People around the harbour had been complaining of health issues when the tanker was docked there, merely due to the air pollution that the poison caused by being docked there.
Since there is a considerable profit motive to create such poison, and since processing is difficult and costly, it may be dumped in the ocean much more often than expected.
Rabobank, the top financing partner of Trafigura BV, adapted the slogan “Growing a better world together” and presents itself as an environmentally friendly bank. In 2017, the bank received a “Green Bond Award”.
Rabobank may have an interest in Eugenics/GMO (Monsanto etc). See Eugenics on Nature: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=17547Trafigura BV wrote:It is without doubt that the world faces a global food crisis. Rabobank, a Dutch multinational banking and financial services company, seeks to play a significant role in ensuring food security for current and future generations.

Pending question:
How many tankers of poison have been dumped in the ocean (by fortune 500 companies)? How often is it done in 2021? How many whales and dolphins have been harmed because of it?
