What is the author's true intention behind this book?

Post by Sushan »

This book demonstrates the resolution between science and scripture with respect to the timing of the formation of the universe and the appearance of life on Earth. Once reconciliation has been reached, the book shows an approach to understanding our future advance toward the End of Days.
As per the author, his intention behind writing this book is to form a reconciliation between biblical and scientific time lines related to formation of the universe and beginning of the life on earth, and after that, to predict how the End of Days will be and to prepare humankind for it.

But what I see here is that the author's predictions are solely based on the religious prophecies regarding the End of Days. He applies these prophecies to a practical world without considering other important political and social facts, that impacts a lot more on the world's future than these prophecies. In that case, I see his attempt, if it is really to prepare people to the End, as a less useful one.

So, I believe that, whatever the author has said, his true intention has been to prove that the bible and other religious scriptures are scientifically true and acceptable. Do you agree with me? Or do you think that the author has revealed his(their) true intentions? If so, is it a practical approach to predict the future solely on religious prophecies?

If one is Truly interested in gaining an understanding of an author's true intention behind their writings, then that one would stop assuming they know, would stop asking "others", and would go 'directly to the source', as it is said and written.

Why do some human beings think that 'philosophy' is about assuming or guessing what another means in what they say and write?

Actually philosophy is about assuming things. The ancient great philosophers have assumed things as per their knowledge and they argued with others to defend their assumptions and disprove others' assumptions. Such discussions are highly valued today as philosophical discussions.

It is true that it is better to ask from the particular author what was his true intention behind writing this book. But what is wrong behind making assumptions regarding that fact and discussing about them?
“There is only one thing a philosopher can be relied upon to do, and that is to contradict other philosophers”
