Yes, he must focus on them (the things of the Spirit) to receive them. As with any ability, one must devote one's attention to it to cultivate it.Why does "the natural man not receive the things of the Spirit of God"? Does he have an option to choose?

As stated, one rejects what seems foolish to one, but when one develops the capacity for spiritual discernment, one finds truth in that which formerly appeared false or frivolous. But I'm sure what your question is....
