Adam sinned, not Eve. Why did Yahweh punish an innocent Eve?

Discuss philosophical questions regarding theism (and atheism), and discuss religion as it relates to philosophy. This includes any philosophical discussions that happen to be about god, gods, or a 'higher power' or the belief of them. This also generally includes philosophical topics about organized or ritualistic mysticism or about organized, common or ritualistic beliefs in the existence of supernatural phenomenon.

Religion has always been one of the most corrupt polluters in human history. Islam and Christianity, even more than Judaism, are perhaps the greatest criminal institutions on the planet whose influence has not yet ceased. I can't be more blunt than that.

Yes.
Theists certainly think so who claim the mandate of morality to do precisely that.

I was asking you.

I recall when the West was being conditioned to hate.

As to morality; it seems that their adoring a genocidal homophobic and misogynous prick of a fascist god, is not enough proof of Yahweh's and Jesus' vileness.

Christians venerate what belongs in hell.

You might like this link on the rejected Judeo/Christian morality we are supposed to thank them for.

------------------

Both Christianity and Islam, slave holding ideologies, have basically developed into intolerant, homophobic and misogynous religions. Both religions have grown themselves by the sword instead of good deeds and continue with their immoral ways in spite of secular law showing them the moral ways.

Jesus said we would know his people by their works and deeds. That means Jesus would not recognize Christians and Muslims as his people, and neither do I. Jesus would call Christianity and Islam abominations.

Gnostic Christians did in the past, and I am proudly continuing that tradition and honest irrefutable evaluation based on morality.

Humanity centered religions, good? Yes. Esoteric ecumenist Gnostic Christianity being the best of these.

Supernaturally based religions, evil? Yes.

Islam and Christianity being the worst of these.

well as far as quality goes I haven't found much out there but this forum has some good content from time to time and is very high flow which can be frustrating at times when you post a reply and the next day there are 16 pages of replies to sift through lol

Be you a believer or not, your life has been affected by the mainstream religions and the myth of Adam and Eve. It is the source of Christian homophobia and misogyny.

There are many strange things in the myth of Adam and Eve.
Was Adam born alone or first?
If Adam was created in God’s image and likeness, who is woman modeled after?
Satan is depicted in part as a woman.
Who was she modeled on and why female? Likely because of evolution and women being men’s biological prize.

In law, to be punished, one must be shown to have evil intent or an evil mind. Latin, Men’s Rea.

This is what human justice is based on.

Was Eve innocent, given that she had no evil intent?

God made Adam and Eve. Since God is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent he knew exaclty what he was doing and what the outcome would be of his prurient, nastly little experiment.
So, it is God that is the sinner, not either of the humans.

IMO the sinners are those who take the myth literally, misleading the gullible, often cynically and deliberately doing so to boost the flock, eg. modern evangelist Christianity.

In summary, the legend of Adam and Eve claimed that life for hominids was pleasant until they lost their innocence, which significantly increased their suffering. This myth clearly shows how little humans empathise with other animals. Humans do not read other animals' expressions well, so the ancients assumed that they did not suffer as humans do. Life in the wild is harsh, brutal and frightening - both for humans and other species. That is why humans worked so hard to escape the wild, even preferring to be crammed uncomfortably in dirty, crowded cities.

Genesis was not only anthropocentric, it was also patriarchal. So Eve was seen as a distraction; men who tried to achieve great things in history were often distracted from their path by their lust for women. So we have the Woman the Temptress stereotype.

Genesis does not consider Eve's POV, with so many women having their potentials needlessly stifled by historical patriarchal cultures. If Genesis was written in a matriarchal society, Adam would have caused the fall by physically forcing Eve to eat the apple.

Mythology, like history, is written by the victors, so Genesis comes from the perspective of Abrahamic alpha male human beings. They wrote only of Man's spiritual journey, with women and animals portrayed as mere bit actors, lesser beings. Why were they considered lesser? Because men held the power of life and death over women and animals. That is, the alpha males at the time were egocentric bullies (tautology?).

What can you expect from a savage gorilla god - with apologies to all gorillas - that could easily serve the deity requirements for both Isis and the Taliban?

FLORA SYMBOLICA
Lore and Legends of the Flowers

(Intro only)

A tale I’ve written, invented, yes, hence
An attempt to unite the Christian pense
With the non-belief, in a middle ground,
Somewhere between mystery and good sense:

With flora mystical and magical,
Eden’s botanical garden was blest,
So Eve, taking more than just the Apple,
Plucked off the loveliest of the best.

Thus it’s to Eve that we must give our thanks,
For Earth’s variety of fruits and plants,
For when she was out of Paradise thrown,
She stole all the flowers we’ve ever known.

Therewith, through sensuous beauty and grace,
Eve with Adam brought forth the human race,
But our world would never have come to be,
Had not God allowed them His mystery.

When they were banished from His bosom,
Eve saw more than just the Apple Blossom,
And took, on her way through Eden’s bowers,
Many wondrous plants and fruitful flowers.

Mighty God, upon seeing this great theft,
At first was angered, but soon smiled and wept,
For human nature was made in His name—
So He had no one but Himself to blame!

Yet still He made ready His thunderbolt,
As His Old Testament wrath cast its vote
To end this experiment gone so wrong—
But then He felt the joy of life’s new song.

Eve had all the plants that she could carry;
God in His wisdom grew uncontrary.
Out of Eden she waved the flowered wands,
The seeds spilling upon the barren lands.

God held the lightning bolt already lit,
No longer knowing what to do with it,
So He threw it into the heart of Hell,
Forming of it a place where all was well.

Thus the world from molten fire had birth,
As Hell faded and was turned into Earth.
This He gave to Adam and Eve, with love,
For them and theirs to make a Heaven of.

From His bolt grew the Hawthorn and Bluebell,
And He be damned, for Eve stole these as well!
So He laughed and pretended not to see,
Retreating into eternity.

“So be it,” He said, when time was young,
“That such is the life My design has wrung,
For in their souls some part of Me has sprung—
So let them enjoy all the songs I’ve sung.

“Life was much too easy in Paradise,
And lacked therefore of any real meaning,
For without the lows there can be no highs—
All that remains is a dull flat feeling!

“There’s no Devil to blame for their great zest—
This mix of good and bad makes them best!
The human nature that makes them survive,
Also lets them feel very much alive.

“That same beastful soul that makes them glad
Does also make them seem a little bad.
If only I could strip the wrong from right,
But I cannot have the day without the night!”

So it was that with fertile delight Eve
Seeded the lifeless Earth for us to receive.
Though many flowers she had to leave behind,
These we have from the Mother of Mankind:

U C 20/20.

Like when Yahweh created Adam without a mate in one of the creation dublets, women was an after thought.

Rib woman had to stupidly be written in.

Helpmeet had them thinking of women as meat.

Even today, so neuroscience shows, we store female information where men store tool information.

Nice that we love our tools and would die for them.

Love to them does not apply to gays and those life women, in total.

They are alpha to the point of adoring a genocidal god that they are to emulate.

Nothing quite like an Alpha destroying his own tribe, with the help of Noah, the traitor to humanity.

Yuk.

Give me Beta to follow.
