Atheism and Free Will

Discuss philosophical questions regarding theism (and atheism), and discuss religion as it relates to philosophy. This includes any philosophical discussions that happen to be about god, gods, or a 'higher power' or the belief of them. This also generally includes philosophical topics about organized or ritualistic mysticism or about organized, common or ritualistic beliefs in the existence of supernatural phenomenon.

To claim the Ukraine war has anything to do with Nazism is a complete lie.

If you do not see Putin as a new Hitler you are blind just the world was in 1940.
Regarding laws, wars can be either illegal or legal (ie. justified), and as far as I know war in Ukraine is in accordance with international law.
War crimes must be investigated but according to the law not according to mainstream media claims.

And regarding whether it is Christian or not to wage wars you should really read about it in Catechism, there it says certain wars can be justified.

Recall that Jesus didn't say to solders "stop fighting", he said them "be satisfied with your salary", therefore it's not un-Christian or unbiblical to wage wars.
I think you should be careful with mainstream media and how they inform the public about wars.

Putin’s war and genocide in Ukraine is totally unjustified.
He is a war criminal and his death is the most humane solution to this criminal war he started.

Putin actions are those of a complete and total evil atheist. He is in church to pretend to be a man of religion but his actions are a total insult to Jesus and God.
Osama bin Laden hide behind Islam to pretend he was religious when he was also a genocidal atheist.
Putin like Hitler manipulates and perverts the church to help justify his genocide.

I can see that your emotional commitment to your position is real and deep. The trouble is it's leading you to exaggerate, and otherwise mis-state, the case. The above statement is nothing more than discrimination against atheists. Unjustified discrimination against atheists. And it carries no useful meaning to add to this discussion.

...

I suppose you have told us that your hatred for atheists is emotionally-based, and that you assign to the atheist community the hugely-negative attribute of "evil", which must call into question your ability to take a constructive and helpful role in this discussion. 🤔🤔🤔

I understand and respect atheism and atheists like Bill Gates and Stephen Hawkins and John Lennon. They are not evil and have humanity they find from a source other than God. I worry about evil atheist not good atheist. Even worse are evil atheist who pretend to be religious like Putin and Hitler and Osama bin Laden.

Bill Gates and Stephen Hawkins and John Lennon do(did) not have the power to show their real face.
You know every president is supreme commander and will eventually be dragged into war one way or another, and then people will say how evil he is because it is killing people.

Why don't you complain about J. Bush and Obama waging war against muslims for example? how are they different?

Putin is different than Bush and Obama in that they did not intentionally engage in genocide. Their military actions did not target civilians and if they did then they will need to answer to the World courts. Truman did intentionally kill innocent women and children with the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima but that in a war crime trial may be justifiable because Truman saved more Japanese lives by ending the war and preventing the mass suicide that the Japanese emperor had ordered if an American land invasion of Japan occurred.
Bush is responsible for starting the Iraq war and could be tried for war crimes but he was reacting to the genocidal attack of 911 and felt justified to prevent another 911 from Iraq.
Putin is acting exactly like Hitler in every way and has perverted the war by saying he is there to denazify Ukraine which is a lie and now is committing active genocide and is following Hitler’s playbook.
The most humane way to end this war that most Russians do not want is to remove Putin and brutal dictators only leave in one way, by their death since they are in power for life.

Thank you for not defending Putin.
We are witnessing similar events to 1939 in many ways. Now the question is will we make the same mistakes or have a better understanding of human evil and genocidal acts and genocide. We must prevent another World War and that means stopping those who want to commit war crimes to advance their agenda. Obama was right in killing Osama bin Laden and removing Putin from office is the most humane way to save us all and prevent WWIII.

Tyrants will come and go.

How the rest of the world responds to them is what shows if we are progressing or not in how we govern ourselves.

If the West cannot get along with the East, then China has already won the demographic War for the World.

Tyrants and brutal dictators prevent dissent from their people. The only checks and balances for a tyrant is how people outside the tyrant’s country react.
If war crimes or unjustified murders or genocide are caused by the tyrant, we must never be afraid to help remove that brutal tyrant knowing that the new leader will always be better. Why? Because the brutal tyrant always kills anyone in his orbit or country that is more brutal than him. The most humane way to end the current and evolving genocide in Ukraine is to remove Putin by death if necessary. Senator Lindsey Graham was vocal about removing Putin and the Senator is absolutely right. Thank God for the Senator’s courage.

In the same way that, if George W Bush had been "removed", the citizens of the USA would have realised their mistake, and called off their invasion of Iraq? ... Or would they have identified an attack on their country and way of life, and struck back hard against those who removed their leader, maybe even launching nuclear weapons, if they saw no other outlet for their ire?

I don't think removal is the policy that offers the greatest chance of success.
