Everyone has a soul

Discuss philosophical questions regarding theism (and atheism), and discuss religion as it relates to philosophy. This includes any philosophical discussions that happen to be about god, gods, or a 'higher power' or the belief of them. This also generally includes philosophical topics about organized or ritualistic mysticism or about organized, common or ritualistic beliefs in the existence of supernatural phenomenon.

Everyone has a soul

Post by Dracula »

I don't have a ton of knowledge on how everyone has a soul, but I do have one profound concept. You are a soul right now. Thus why couldn't you be a soul again? Or forever?

As for the veil that is the universe, think about this, a one inch seed becomes a 100 foot tree.
You are a human for a lifetime, you are your soul for eternity.

Start from the obvious point: what is a soul?

Your soul is not some sort of "ghost in the machine".

Your soul is your very self.

I suppose some today would call it your identity ?

I wonder how you know this, or how you came to realise it?

The concept of "soul" I am familiar with isn't compatible with your idea of "being a soul again" because this concept implies that "soul" is permanent. Also the concept implies "having a soul" but not "being a soul".
Maybe you could elaborate a bit on your "profound concept"?

Basically a soul and a human are the same thing, they both exist as an entity that lives. I came to this concept from encountering people that believe they don't have a soul. I also believe, with some form of X-Ray or something, you can see the permanent part of the body which I call a ghost. Which is one's existence. In which this ghost will become a body again in Origin or Heaven.

Like you, I harbour religious beliefs that cannot be confirmed or denied. But, unlike you, I make no claims about God's presence — in whatever way — in the physical universe that is the concern of science. Once we do so, we enter the very different world of science, and must abide by its conventions and perspectives. You seem to claim — without actually doing so — that there is some form of electromagnetic radiation that can detect a 'soul'. But all of the frequencies of EM radiation that we have examined show no such property.

I think your claim (above) is actually this:

I believe there is a permanent part of the body which I call a ghost.

Perhaps we might add this too, in fairness:

I believe there is an as-yet-undiscovered form of ElectroMagnetic Radiation that can make this 'ghost' apparent.

As a theist myself, I have beliefs that cannot be scientifically validated. I know and accept that this is so. So I make no untrue or untestable claims regarding the physical universe that is the province of science.

There's no harm in trying to make an X Ray that can show the existence in the body. So I say let's talk about it until it happens, if it's possible. Plus I know other things that indicate a ghost along with the other 5 properties of the body and soul. I don't know where to look in all my notes for when I learned about the ghost. But I suppose I'll give one highly forsaken bit of knowledge to show I know about this ghost anatomy.

There are 6 things apart of a human that I call attractions. I also call it "Artflow" just to steer away from the word attraction. And not everyone has all 6 artflows. The first artflow comes from the anatomy skin, the attraction to the opposite sex. Then you have ghost senses brain muscles and nerves. I don't have any artflows besides skin, and that's my path in the universe. But basically everyone should have the ghost artflow. In which that artflow holds the key to knowing there are 6 "anatomies" to the body and soul. If one has 6 artflows.

Another way to see the 6 artflows is, soulmate soul "soulfriends" "philosophers" enemies and the realm. As you can see I don't have 6 artflows because I don't even know proper terms to describe them all.

Thus if there's 6 artflows there are 6 "anatomies". Skin ghost senses brain muscles nerves. And that's one way to know about the ghost that is apart of the human body.
You are a human for a lifetime, you are your soul for eternity.

Harm? No, I suppose there's no harm. Just as there is no 'harm' in looking for Bigfoot. But it doesn't seem all that likely that we will discover anything. Anything is possible — or nearly anything — but do you really think this is a worthwhile route to travel?

Can we assume that this 'ghost' is the human soul, or...? And these "notes": what are they about, and when did you take these notes; what is their source?

Yeah, you could be right about not being able to see the ghost.

I would say this ghost element of the body and soul would be someone's existence. Cause let's face it, muscles are not someone's existence, nerves are not someone's existence etc. Although, I believe the ghost is in combination with all of the body, or should I say connected, to everything that is the body.

As for my notes, I've been doing philosophy for a long time and taking notes. But who's to say I'll ever find anything considering it's been so long. It's a hopeless cause going through my notes.

I would say the body and soul have 6 properties, skin ghost senses brain muscles nerves. And like how the senses see and hear the ghost is existence.

You cannot see the ghost because the "ghost" is who we are in our essence, it is Existence. It is the eye of the eye, ear of the ear. You can see and touch and hear the sound your body makes through its biological apparatus, with its anatomy and physiology, with all its nerves, and blood vessels, air flow, brain, heart and and mind. But biology is not you, when the body dies everything goes to earth, becomes food. Your mind is not you, your memory is not you. The "ghost" is the consciousness that is conscious that it is conscious.
