As you can see by state legislatures enacting 'voter suppression laws' with Republican backing and still maintaining the Trump myth that the election was stolen - This is not over !
I guess this is just part of the wider issue that generally arises in extremely partisan environments in which demonstrable loyalty to the tribe trumps all other considerations. In that environment, truth is what the tribe says it is. To deviate from the tribe's line is, by definition, to lie. Hence, in this particular example, I presume any Republican who acknowledges that Biden won the election is automatically a RINO, automatically a liar and, if they hold elected office, won't for much longer, if the tribe has anything to do with it.

It seems that to someone with that Trump mentality loyalty and truth are genuinely inseparable. I think he's pretty much said that himself. Loyalty is truth. I guess it's no accident that one of the meanings of the word "true" is actually "loyal" or "faithful".

Isn't that how the MAFIA operated, and still operates - Are you not talking about a criminal gang :?:

As Liz Cheney, and the few Republicans like Romney, etc. have pointed out about Trump's character,
or lack of character.........{'he lies to suit his agenda, often and frequently; including saying he won he election when he know dam well he lost}

There is though a certain purity about Trump that is being missed - He appears to be the purest
sociopath/psychopath that has achieved control of a country in modern times.

He is truly an historical anomaly and nightmare wrapped in one.

You can point out leaders like Hitler and say they were evil, which they were, but even they had some sense of right and wrong, twisted and distorted - but still some sense of right and wrong.

But when Donald Trump jeopardizes the very country he was supposed to be leader of by questioning the
Democratic election process - He has gone beyond all boundaries of right and wrong
- He has become and still is the most dangerous tyrant ever faced by the United States of America :!:

Yes, unless the likes of Martin Scorsese and Mario Puzo have lied to me.

I've always thought the operating principles of the Mafia (at least as depicted) is quite interesting, in that it's easy to see the rationale behind it. The importance of being able to trace one's associates' ancestors back to Sicily. The importance of making sure that they murder someone (make their bones) and do various other things to make sure they're tied in. The importance of hair (at least in The Sopranos). The importance of personal relationships and eye contact. The importance of omerta (the code of silence) and not squealing. All cliches thanks to move and TV depictions, but all part of the structure for ensuring loyalty.

And as long as the Republican Party remains under the control of Donald Trump it is no longer a valid
American political party - In fact under Trump's influence and control the Republican Party in now a crime cartel, a division of Trump, Inc., and the members of this party that continue their allegiance to Trump are guilty of violating the RICO {Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act} and should be held accountable :!:

What's scarier than Trump is the GOP itself. By report, Trump expects to be back in the big chair in August; an extremely improbable event. However, the Republican Party will still be there in spite of having descended into criminality even if Trump himself becomes numero uno in the jail bird hierarchy. That too is a highly unlikely event, proving the higher one's position the easier it is to be beyond the law.

No one is above the law is simply what you're supposed to believe and not a genuine operating principle.

Apparently, the Republican party and again apparently under Trump's leadership, has come to realize they can, in most elections, not win in a Democracy - The elite group they represent which includes an assortment of right wing radicals and racists, has become obvious under Trump - They are a minority, and the coalition of Liberals and other minorities now outnumber them - Losing Georgia in the last election is an obvious example. So they are passing restrictive voting law, partially on Trump's 'big lie' that the election was rigged - Only a pure lying psychopath would keep saying this when he knows it is a lie - But that is Trump's specialty, lying and accusing his enemies of doing exactly what he is doing. The Republican Party has sold its soul to the Devil - and will pay the price
- But like the psycho mind of the Trump that now rules them they do not believe there will be consequences - We will see how this plays out - It did not go will for the Southern States during the Civil War and Trump's attempt to replay the Civil War with the hope of a different outcome is sure to backfire.
Trump, and by extension the Republican Party support, is still engaged in a coup against the government
of the United States.

My warning to Donald Trump:

“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.”

I'm not in the least convinced of that. Up to now they haven't even made a down-payment on what is long overdue.

"IF" the next election {House/Senate} backfires in their face, and I think it might, they will have to do some deep cleaning and soul searching to regain credibility. Many in the Republican Party today seem to be
counting on the popularity of Trump as he came a close second in the Presidential election - But that was before Trump's "I can't lose" and the "election was rigged" mantras had created an attempted 'coup d'état' - How many former Trump voters will still vote for an unhinged psycho with himself as the main agenda :?:

Very good question indeed. Maybe an even more unhinged psycho will come along. Is Jake Angeli available, or is he serving time?

I fear far too many even though it's not conceivable that such will ever constitute a majority. It could, however, still prevent or delay any soul-searching by the GOP. The longer such a mutilated party continues to be influential without impetus to reexamine itself, the greater the danger for the U.S. which conversely implies a kind of triumph for Russia and China who would like to see nothing more than the U.S. politically endangered. If a country rots from the inside, there isn't much hope left for things to long continue with its so-called democratic principles.

To that end, it's important to find out what Putin has on Trump. Was he filmed doing something embarrassing in a Russian hotel room? Or is it to do with evidence of illegal financial dealings? Whatever, Putin definitely knows things about Trump that the latter is desperate for the world not to know.

Russians on the internet, on YouTube videos, were supporting Trump way back in the election of 2016
- Why?

It is possible that what you say is true and that Putin has something on Trump - But it could simply be a mutual admiration club - Trump on several occasions has shown his admiration for strongman dictators such as Putin and Kim from N Korea - And remember in the first impeachment attempt of Trump Muller said he could not prove collusion with Russia, but could also not rule it out.

Trump has shown himself to be very un-American and is suffering because he could not overturn a legitimate democratic election and just declare himself President - He really is no different than Putin in Russia and Xi Jinping of China - Trump just wants to change the rules, and end the Constitution of the United States and declare himself President. He and any group or political party that supports him are a clear and present danger to the United States.

It's bizarre they have doubled down on ever more blatant diviseness, conspiracy theories and voter suppression to try to plug their sinking ship of fools.

They desperately need to take stock and change, they are a ridiculous, nasty, reckless, unscrupulous bunch of losers with nothing constructive to offer. I guess they have nothing else. But they need to find something.

The refusal to re-evaluate should be ruinous for them. Unfortunately a big chunk of American voters are nutters. And dangerous nutters at that. You have to hope the Reps get thrashed and get a grip.
